"true crown is not supposed to be hard" This must be tutorial for speedrunners... For a casual player, the only hard part of true crown is not getting hit from the moment of cursing to the moment of uncursing, all the rest is indeed easy =)

It took me so long to get true crown the first time, and now it’s not too hard. My favorite cursepot method is to be on a ledge with a ladder on it as well (like at the bottom of 1-4) and drop the pot and fall as well, but after about 2 blocks just press the up button, and the pot with hit you and curse you. It’s consistent and doesn’t take any set up. It’s quick with low co true crown as well, especially on 1-4 when you always have the set up on either side so long as you take the curse pot with you.

Something that can be possible if lucky enough is having beg giving you the true crown on temple 4-2 , but make sure to first get the elexir then get the crown

Do I have to be cursed prior to the level in which the third alter is located? can't I just do it in the same level before meeting Beg?

You have to be cursed before entering the level in which an altar is located. Watching the fourth run covers this.
