You should be completely fine under fair use and be protected by US copyright law because this is for education. That is bullshit.

Honest feedback: I've seen many of your videos and you do know your stuff. However you speak in a way that makes you sound arrogant and condescending. You are constantly telling your audience that you know your stuff because you've been doing it for so long etc etc. you don't need to say that constantly. It is understood. You explaining and teaching establishes you as a knowledgeable teacher. You don't have to keep telling me how good you are. It dilutes the power of your videos. This is not a hater message. I genuinely think you know your stuff and make informative videos. Just something I've noticed that I wanted to share. Hope it helps you.

I think it’s good that he is telling people that he has done this for years, so people like me understand that it will take time to be good at it, and not just give up.

I think he says it only when it is necessary. For example when he says that he is going do start at a square wave beginners would be wondering how he knows that it would be good to start with a square wave. And the only explanation that one knows what wave to use is that one has worked with them for a long time. It is only to explain the viewer where he knows from how to do certain things.

What an idiotic statement, anyone watching your video is doing so because you have credibility and skills they want, if you dont state your expirience level you dont establish your credibility, please just keep doing what you do and dont be concerned with such silly comments.

I really like your channel (especially the series on Serum! the best on KZbin), but this video was actually disappointing. If I did not miss anything, in eight minutes you pretty much tells that you can recreate sounds because you know different types of synthesis and has a lot of experience with it. Yeah, I can fully understand this is the way you go, but if a beginner asks you: how would I recreate sound "x", would you tell him: spend next five years learning different types of synthesis and synths ? As a beginner I can say that there are actually multiple things that could immediately help me, such as inspecting the audio waveform, analysing frequency spectrum or using an audition mode in EQ to go with a notch filter through the whole sound. There are probably thousands of such techniques that I don't even know yet and was kind of expecting, but I understand this is the way you are doing it so you showed us your perspective. I fully understand that the most optimal way is to always go by ear & experience, but if someone is not capable of it (yet) there are still several tools that can be very helpful to achieve the goal.

Great vid. Funny, it actually helped out that you drew attention to a fast pitch envelope (which is core in drum synthesis) by calling it an advanced technique when it's used for punchy leads and basses (other than 808s). Solid reminder.

Nope. Because the pattern is still the same.
@tristunalekzander5608
@tristunalekzander5608 6 жыл бұрын
No, that's just changing the key. If that were possible there would be hundreds of different versions of the same popular song just at a slightly different hertz lol Also, even if you change the pattern, there has to be a certain amount of difference between yours and the copyrighted material whether that's for parody or fan fiction. For instance, I cannot take a recording of a famous movie, edit 1 second out from the middle of it or just change the color grading and put it on KZbin monetized or not. It has to be different enough to where people will clearly recognize that it is not the original. In Europe, pretty soon even that may be illegal due to Article 13. If you live in Europe, you should seriously consider contacting your appropriate representatives to urge them to resist Article 13 ASAP. It is totalitarian and wrong. They are seeking to control our thoughts. I'm just glad I'm American but damn, Europe is turning into a fucking dystopian sci-fi novel. We must fight to save the internet. If it dies, there is _no_ hope left.

Or you can read a music "magazine" where the artist is interviewed and he or she will tell what preset in what plug-in they used. Back before the Internet (Listen up kids) there used to be Music Production Magazines (yes they still exist) and that's how I learned who used what preset from what synth. You couldn't just look it up like you can now.

It increases the amount for that envelope basically. He's just adding small pitch to the sound to give it that pluckyness. Try it on a sine wave and you get a nice sound for a kick sound or a fat 808 sound with a long release :)

do dumb shit, when something doesnt change the sound, set it back to how it was. keep doing dumb shit till it sounds good follow the process and progression others do to make a sound, you'll work it out quickly. also stop using pre made sounds, im quicker at making something that fit than finding something that sort of fits and making it fit. making a sound that someone else has used in a track is a sure fire way of making unoriginal shit.
