How do I safely remove a Tick from my child?

i just found ur channel as my husband found a tick on my 2 yr old daughter cheek. it was small we thought it was a blood blister or mole. we used tweezers and it came out thank god. not used to havin this problem here in scotland lol. she all fine no redness or infection but doc said to keep eye on her.
