Never regretted a work out. Many times I dont want to go and I feel better afterwards. The dedication and consistency is beneficial in so many ways.

My 15 year old said “let’s do one of MDJFitness’ workouts. GLUTES of course. I think my muscles were a little surprised but she 8. Thanks for being a great role model for her Cheers

I was depressed. Customer told me I looked smaller. It inspired me to workout every single day thereafter now every other. I gained 16 lbs of muscle within a year! I'm hooked. I'm compulsive obssesive.

I have low motivation days all. the. time. Especially in the beginning. I beat myself up over it like “ugh I should have gone”. There are even times when I went anyway because I realized I was just making excuses. Those days were the best. ❤

So true, when you feel low motivation, and you manage to push through (with any task), you get a sense of achievement that then makes you more motivated 💜💫

53 years young here. Just came off of weight loss surgery in January. Lost 40 lbs in addition to the 50 I began to lose when the pandemic started. Trying to find a direction to getting my body right, I did a search on KZbin, and you came up. You are a beast my friend. I don't even know where to start as far as my work out routine. In HS and early 20's I was a basketball player. Now with bad knees, I don't know where to start but, I going to go through your video library and figure out what I can realistically do. I think the next few years can be transformative. I'm 5'10" but would like to regain my toned body as much as possible. Thank you for the pep talk. New subscriber in California.

If you're able to afford a decent class, I'd highly recommend reformer Pilates. I invested a tonne into it over 18 months, and can now run - really run - for the first time ever. Squats, lunges etc, all now a breeze as far as my joints are concerned. Pelvic floor, after having five kids, is spectacular, and muscle growth, to me anyway, is really impressive. And if anyone tells you reformer Pilates is too easy - it's not! You can still sweat in those classes.

@mika_5476 my issue is a turn meniscus in one knee and that caused me to wear out the other one. I will look into your advice. I had never looked into that type of Pilates. Thank you

I’ve watched her shirts for a while and this is the first video of hers that I’ve watched and it’s so nice to see another competitive swimmer turned gym rat, i could relate so much when she was mentioning the swimming stuff, I was shocked.

I don't think I have an actual goal in mind anymore. I did when I was trying to get below 160 lbs and I did recently. I just enjoy going to the gym. It's my "self therapy" time. It helps me clear my head and get out any type of negative emotions out. I feel better and when I'm done usually work out any problems I have.

I feel the same way about the "self therapy" time. After a day of work, it's great to workout, whether it be an intense workout w/ weights or just bike or treadmill cardio, to clear my head & do something positive & beneficial to my mental and physical health. Been doing it for 49 years, and still in love with it, and never regret going to the gym

YES. My lips and throat get SO dry when I’m working out ☠️ I use this Physicians Formula Diamond plumper lip gloss because it’s moisturizing and kind of sticky which makes it last longer than regular lip balm. And I also take my headphones off when I feel like I’m going to throw up or faint 😭

7:27 Holy mackerel! YES! My lips get dry... not too sure about my throat. But I never really though about it cause I'm just trying to effectively push through the workout... and I'm a guy. I used to have some balm at my place. Maybe I'll look into it in the future.

Here is my question for you. Some of us our job requires us to be on our feet all day. How can I balance doing legs and being on my legs the next day all day? It hurts so much

Also FOR ME to keep "motivated " I imagined a "gym crush" in house or that fails in the outer world ficticiously or not helped me to propel and aspire by leaps and bounds honestly.

You are right and what you said is undisputed but for old geezers like us baby boomers motivation was never in the equation. It's always been dedication. And being in good health and fit means nothing we are still getting old and will eventually die as fit people.

Honestly all my workouts are impulsive daily and can range from 2.5 hours to 4 depending how much gas I have in the tank.

Totally get dry lips. Always apply lip chap before every workout. Also I sweat like a demon. Gotta bring a towel with me for sure

@mdjfitness great video! :) I sometimes struggle with days when my motivation is not too bad, but the performance at the gym is not good at all 😅 - i.e. weights/ sets that I can usually do well, I struggle to finish (in a good form or even at all and I tend to start feeling the muscles I'm not even targetting whereas with the same excercises on a good day, I do). Is that normal?! Thank you!
