Thank you for this video. Very nice to hear this when you feel a sense of alienation from well meaning friends/relos. I’m sure many here can relate to the “you’re so thin…isn’t it all a bit extreme?” We’re a bit worried about you” . Especially galling tho when you are finally getting well after years and years of disease .- ok, not a miracle cure, I will likely always have a few autoimmune diseases (knocked a few back tho too:) but just to have the energy to go out, swim, walk, dance laugh, - Live for goodness sake.! I’m so grateful I have found the Good Doctors especially the very pragmatic, wry Dr Mcdougall , I have learned Sooo much. I swear next time I am asked at a BBQ where I get my protein/calcium/iron if not from a slab of meat like they do I’ll say “well , I just I pull it all out of my my arse, actually :) But….. Um, that would be childish and I try to be kind to animals … and err decorum. :)

Most of us don't have this problem, but it's a reminder to eliminate oil, avocados, nuts, and seeds; flour products, including pasta if needed, and dried fruits. I listen to too many people who consider themselves experts. Now I've got to get re directed back to the Maximum Weight Loss Plan that will let the weight go. I get off track often, and it's easy to include these items, and call them whole foods. Might be for some people but is weight loss wisdom for me. Thank you, Dr. McDougall.

Yes, I had to stop eating cashews and almonds. It took me a while to realize I was gaining weight from them, because I was told they were healthy foods, but they are foods you can easily eat too much of. It's interesting to hear avocados will put weight on you, because I recently started eating more of those-in my smoothies or by itself. I'll have to stop eating those too while trying to lose weight. Thanks.

Could you please talk about sleep issues sometime? You always stress the importance of sleep, and i‘m going to assume that the healthier one gets on the wfpb diet, the better one‘ sleep will get naturally, but i‘d love to know more in depth about how bad health disrupts healthy sleeping and how to cope until the issue sorts itself out from your perspective specifically. Preferably, i‘d look forward to informations that go beyond avoiding alcohol/caffeine, having regular sleeping patterns, a good sleeping environment and all the common sense advice.

Try Quinoa with sweet potatoes and a lot of green's , that could help, Blessings
@jeremymetcalf25022 жыл бұрын
You don't need to track calories. Take a plate, fill one quarter with fruit, one with a bean source (protein), one with a vegetable, and one with starch (either potatoes, pasta, rice etc.) Pick from each one equally until your satisfied. If you don't eat it all, save it for later. When you get hungry, finish the plate, or make a new plate. It's important to equally rotate. If you don't you might not get enough protein and your brain might think you need to eat more, or vice versa. Change up the plate as much as possible. Eat as many different types of each category as possible. If you find yourself stuffing food down because you're trying to meet macros, you're eating too much. Truth no one wants to talk about, no one really knows how many "calories" a particular food is. Our stomachs don't burn food with fire. So stop counting them. Eat until you feel content, without your stomach being stretched to the moon.

Which one has more of plant based nutrients like minerals, vitamins, flavonoids, phytosterols, etc...? refined carbohydrates or Olive oil? Is the body fat created due to insulin spike after eating refined carbs really better than fat sourced from Olive/avocado/coconut oil?

Plain white rice and non whole wheat has much more vitamins and minerals than oil. Those also don't make you fat if you're not eating them with fat.

@@dj-fe4ck the amount of vitamins and minerals from unenriched white flour is negligible especially after exposing it to high heat which degrades even more of the heat sensitive compounds. On the contrary, the fatty sources can be eaten raw and if you can get it unrefined/unfiltered (such as coconut butter) you can get higher mineral content

@PianistTanooki2 жыл бұрын
“Fattening” and “healthy” are two different things… don’t know how you don’t understand that. Yes, something can be fattening and healthy. Avocados, nuts, and seeds are indeed fattening and will help you put on extra weight, but they’re also healthy in that they’ve got fiber and a bunch of other nutrients. They’re just… high fat. They’re great when you’re too thin, because they’ll help you gain weight in such a way where you’re not consuming empty calorie junk food. Vegetables are healthy, but you wouldn’t recommend someone who’s got a BMI below 18.5 to consume half their diet as vegetables if that’s what they’re already doing if their goal is to gain weight. Just because large portions of vegetables would *NOT* be ideal for a person in this situation doesn’t stop vegetables from being healthy… in the same way that avocados, nuts, and seeds aren’t right for those who are severely overweight, but are still healthy foods.

I stopped any form of the diet at about 177 but continue to lose. It's kind of reaking me out. I'll try some of these tips. I'm about 6 foot tall.
