How do I travel with severe ME/CFS?

Thank you so, so much for your wisdom and reassurance! I’m relatively new to the game-long COVID sufferer since about April 2020-and all of your tips are so, so helpful in my particular situation. It’s often incredibly difficult to enunciate how much my senses need protection, or how much energy is sapped by seemingly “non-exertions” to lay people, but your articulations are both validation and helpful. Thank you for your work!!!

Hi Corey, do we call you Mary or Corey? Your reclining wheelchair sounds so comfortable. Yes I wear sunglasses all the time outside. I like your way of thinking and thankfully you have a very supportive family which makes such a huge difference. I do sometimes push through at home which is bad! X

My first name's Mary but I always used Corey. I am VERY lucky to have both a supportive family and a husband with a good income. These are privileges that make the WORLD of difference. Also a doctor who believes me and treats me with care and the Stanford ME/CFS clinic nearby.

These are such good advice. Thank you. I’ve not been travelling abroad or been on a plane since coming down with ME/CFS - pretty sure I’ll crash pretty hard if I do. But with good preperation, maybe it’ll be possible to travel without crashing. Thank you for this :)

I'm due to fly to London this year and I'm taking my wheelchair on a plane for the first time. I'm not worried about it as I need it if I want to go sightseeing. Its just a little thought at the back of my head about getting the chair on the flight but I will tackle that when I book etc. Thank you xxxxxxx

Wow. I feel so horrible 100% of the time that I can't imagine going anywhere. I cant even talk to my dear husband and caregiver for more than a couple minutes a day. You're impressive!
