Just found you. I've had ibs-c since my teens. Now 56. Ive had a colonoscopy in my 30's and then again 7 years ago. Only thing they found last time was internal hemorrhoids. We moved recently (I never go on vacation) and I've been constipated worse than ever. Doing all the things. My question is have you ever heard of anyone loosing the urge to poop.? The only time I go is when I have the urge and I've only had the urge a couple times in past couple weeks. I've had to use enemas. I'm not eating a lot because everything bloats me and gives me stomach problems.

Thank you for sharing you story. While we cannot provide medical advice, please consider consulting a GI expert registered dietitian who may be able to help you identify trigger foods. IFFGD has a helpful listing here: iffgd.org/resources/dietitian-listing/ Additionally, have you talked with your healthcare provider about your symptoms? Stress and travel can affect the gut. Check out these helpful free evidence-based resources: education.giondemand.com/courses/stress-and-your-gut-digestive-conditions education.giondemand.com/courses/benefits-diaphragmatic-breathing One more thing to consider and to speak with your healthcare provider or a pelvic floor therapist, is the role of the pelvic floor and if pelvic floor dysfunction (also common) is linked to your constipation. Prescriptions have proven to be too much for me ( many trial programs as they have become available over the years). Mag Glycine ( 400mg in water and sipping on it throughout the day), Mag Citrate ( 500mg 2 to 5 times a day depending on what I’ve eating) , Betine HGI ( after meals) because believe it or not acid after dinner helps even though I have gad GERD and reflux -digests the food that is usually sitting there in my stomach. Pelvic floor muscles is new to me but I will ask how that can be addressed in my Pilates class 2x per week). Will schedule a colonoscopy! I think this all got worse after a hysterectomy. Any correlation in your experience?
