Q: Hi Melanie, have tried to hook up a few times to ask a question. I run a weekly model railway show run through my MacBookPro with two Logitec webcams and an iphone11 and maybe another iPhone. One challenge is connecting them through a hub to the Mac but I have. Anaged to do it. I have a problem with feedback and not sure where it comes from. Can you help? Thanks

1:25:05 We use a Canon M50 and have to turn off all the display icons on the camera to get a clean HDMI feed to Streamyard... only downside is that we can only use manual focus as autofocus will show that box trying to focus on your face. We also downloaded the Canon app to control our camera from our phone--this makes it so we don't have to get up every 30 minutes or so to hold on the power button so the camera doesn't shut off during the stream.

Make sure you update the firmware for camera, had same issue until I updated.

The M50 doesn't have clean HDMI so you'll need to either use a} manual focus or b) download the free Canon EOS Webcam Utility app which treats it like a webcam. I use the M50 Mark II because it does have a clean HDMI out. Just a thought.

BTW, the camera shouldn't be powering off but the flip-out screen will go to sleep after 30minutes. If you want to wake it up, just tap the record button on top. You can also change the settting in the ECO tab to max of 30 minutes.

@@KevinKolbe Sorry, not the power but yeah, as soon as 30 mins go by, the flip out screen sleeps (it actually doesn't look on at all but is a black screen)... I didn't like pressing the record button on top because tapping it shows the display very briefly (and also requires me to get up) so controling it from the utility app has been the way to go for me.

You can send guests the link to join you backstage. This is under the invite option within the broadcast. In terms of playing an audio clip, you could try adding it to the background music or use a third-party tool such as Loopback (Mac) or VoiceMeeter (PC) to route audio from that application into StreamYard. Love the M50! The easiest way is to download the Canon EOS Webcam Utility free app (available for Mac and PC). Then grab your USB cable that came with the camera, or pick up a data USB cable on Amazon, plug it in, launch the app and it turns your M50 into a webcam. If you have more than one consider getting a powered USB Hub assuming your computer doesn't have enough ports. Hope that helps.

Do they sell Hardware that allows you to switch between layouts, banners, videos, etc in streamyard. When I throw my online summit's I'm standing up 8 feet from my desk

There is hardware, but right now, we have hotkey support for a number of functions in StreamYard, but not everything - bringing up banners, videos, etc is one of them. If it were me, I would consider hiring a producer and have them run your stream for you, while you're 8 feet away, focusing on the content and delivery. Christian Karasiewicz 🦆

i thought this will work for me but it does not, i have a sony zv1 connected via hdmi capture card to computer and an elgato facecam, i can change the cameras in obs it does not change in streamyard even though i have selected obs virtual camera - i am so confused why this is happening! can anyone assist? update: Got it working - my virtual camera settings was not set to Program (Default) and rather set to scene, upon changing this it worked!

One way to do this is to plugin a pair of headphones into the device you want to use for a second or third camera angle. This will fully mute the mic on that device. Next, position the device where you want it and send the "invite a guest" link to it. Open the link and you'll show up in the main studio as a guest. If I wanted to use 3 webcams on a single streamyard session, what is the best way to power those webcams? Clearly I can't run them all from one computer as I would overwhelm the device with too much bandwidth. Is it possible to run 2 webcams (I use Brio) on a single computer without performance issues? You can have 10 people in the live stream on the Basic and Professional plan. Up to 12 people can be in the studio on the Professional plan. You can have 6 people in the stream on the Free plan, but up to 10 people can enter the broadcast studio, so you can swap people in and out if you’re doing a dynamic talk show.
