I had to pause the video at the "God how are you loving me right now?" part cause it was time to take the kids to bed. I walked in to the room and my 4 year old daughter was wearing her rosary beads and had the crucifix on the bed and was praying our nightly prayers in preparation for our nightly prayer. And the question was immediately answered.

I have a dormate way back in college, she taught me a technique on how to pray and I still used it as my guidelines in praying. It is very simple, yet can give you a meaningful prayer in a way that you can talk God in a spritual and special way. A-cknowledge (acknowledge God as he is the source of everything, worship him. Give praises unto him). C-onfession (Confess your sins and simply ask forgiveness to the Lord our God). T-hanks (Give thanks to God, utter certain blessings that he poured unto you). S-self (What do you want to request from God).

Lotus Love a lot of people have weird perceptions about the catholic church. If you're that interested you can always pick up a catechism of the Catholic church. I'm sure it will dispel a lot of strange misperceptions that protestants have about Catholics. It seem ingrained in Anglo American protestant culture to have some sort of strange suspicion/ conspiratorial skepticism of Catholicism. Always been curious as to how that mindset came about.
@kingdah15146 жыл бұрын
88kingofhearts88 I just had a question about that. I’m not interested in Catholicism. I believe in faith alone, not sacraments, and such.

Dear Fr. Mike Schmitz and everyone here, First of all I'm a big fan of you. Sorry to take your time but, Please pray for my friend who is battling cancer. The symptoms came back very recently. Pray that she may have hope and feel the Lord's love for her. Pray that she may be strong in all this, and also for her return to the faith. Pray that, if the Lord wills, she may be healed. And she may when the time comes, enter into eternal life with Him. Please pray for me too to always show her love and support and to also be strong in this trial. Please pray also that our Blessed Mother may intercede for her. Thank you so much for your prayers. I cannot show enough appreciation.

I believe the Rosary is the best prayer for young, old, and for all experiences. Yet, it can be hard to connect a rosary into what we are feeling or experiencing in a day. That personal prayer where we tell God what we are experiencing, or at the very least, asking God to help us know is what can really make our prayer lives that much richer and fuller. But still. Pray the Rosary everyday!

In response to the Ascension Presents survey asking "Your most common prayer..." Until a few months ago I would have said the Rosary, and other chaplets and rosaries, like the Divine Mercy daily, the Seven Sorrows Rosary on Fridays, the St. Gertrude Chaplet on Sundays, and St. Michael Chaplet once in a while. I also kept a daily Holy Hour, ended each day with an evening offering, and began each day with a morning offering followed by the Readings for the Mass. (By the way, please pray for Lee Weisman, an Chasidic Jew who tweeted his daily morning offerings and got me in the habit of remembering before Whom I stand, through Whom I live, until which point I had been in the learned habit of praying only to obtain things and changed behavior in *other* people -- I truly believe his reverence and devotion led to my openness to grace by getting me in the habit of waking with God being the first thought in my mind). A few months ago, I wasn't able to faithfully pray the Rosary or Divine Mercy Chaplet daily, or any of the others either. My work interfered. When my normal schedule resumed, it was a challenge to pray the Rosary daily, though I've been able to keep up pretty well with the Divine Mercy Chaplet and others occasionally. My confessor suggested that it was time to move to the next step, and focus on praying the Word through a lectio divina or something similar. This fits well, as I'm able to take a shorter passage and go deeper into it, so I'm not simply repeating prayers...although I haven't given up vocal prayer entirely. Also, for Lent of 2017, as I prepared to enter into the season of penance, I read the preparatory forward in the Little Black Book (I think it's from Saginaw, or somewhere in Michigan). The forward mentions that God never stops loving you, and never takes His attention from you -- He is focused on you every single moment, loving you. Immediately I knew that my Lenten sacrifice was to be focusing on Him at every moment without fail. And I actually did it! I'm not sure how except for His grace. When Lent ended, I didn't drop that sacrifice. Who would want to? He's so wonderful that it would be weird to achieve that ability and then give it up. Even when my work schedule was bonkers busy, I was able to maintain focus on Him at every moment, recognizing that He was in that moment, and keeping constant communication with Him. When I'm having those distracting thoughts that Fr. Mike mentions in this video, I'm able to address it immediately, telling God I don't want those thoughts and asking Him to purify me. At that moment I begin to feel discomfort somewhere in my body -- usually a flush of heat -- and I thank God for that purifying suffering. I offer it all up on behalf of the Holy Souls and a particular priest
