I really enjoyed watching your video very informative, I’m building a wet sand blasting cabinet and was disappointed by the results, I think some of the knowledge share here might help me going on the right track !

The challenging part is keeping it all in a slurry so the suction gun can pull it up. Then making sure you have the right suction. Your compressors CFM capabilities plays a big role in that. This is for dry blasting, but it gives you an idea of what is needed: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hZK6qXeegqycf80

@@blastitall thanks ! I’ve a 7,5 hp with 25 CFM i’ll try to choose my jet accordingly, i use a water pump to also help getting the slurry up !

thank you for great video, can you please explain the higher the gauge reads the low the vacuum so moving the nozzle out dropping the reading means more vacuum, thank you
@blastitall Жыл бұрын
I'll try to give you an explanation. A proper vacuum gauge will read from 0"-29" HG. So the higher the indicated value, the better or more vacuum. We usually see our suction guns read from 15"-16" HG once they have been adjusted. As the orifice is extended out of the gun the vacuum will increase to a certain point and past the point it begin to decrease (kind of like a sweet spot). Using this type of setup for the gun is the best way to know if your gun is drawing the most amount of vacuum and is working correctly. Thanks for the question and I hope this helps. - Tracy

I’m new to working on Blass cabinets. I use one at a local CNC machine shop and I’m probably the only guy that ever uses it. Getting ready to add glass beads to the cabinet and was wondering if the entire 50 pound bag was necessary to put in?
@blastitallАй бұрын
For suction cabinets the answer is always no. This is a good guide for that: kzbin.info/www/bejne/sIXQYpWdatqHhrM For pressure cabinets you would want to put in enough to almost fill the entire pressure pot. This can very greatly as pressure pots come a wide range of sizes sizes.

Great video. Thank you. I was having problem with suction of my blasting gun. I will check adjusting the orifice with vacuum gauge. Is it possible for the gun body to wear out?
@blastitall Жыл бұрын
Yes, the gun body can wear out. We have seen some with holes in them.

There are small nozzles? Or some part extra to make it compatible with small nozzles for the other type of gun
@blastitall Жыл бұрын
The nozzles are matched with the orifice to provide the best possible suction. Here is a chart that shows nozzle and orifice pairing. blast-it-all.com/cfm_requirements/

What size compressor is needed to run your gun? If my compressor doesn't meet your recommendation should I stay with the gun that came with the cabinet? My cabinet is the big H F that is all over you tube and my compressor is an Ingersoll Rand Garage Mate.

Edward that particular Gun requires a minimum of 21 CFM at 60-80 PSI. Here is how an Ingersoll Rand rep explained it to WorkshopAddict.com. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bKe6opRtjM-ejLc

kind of stupid question here... can you use this gun without owning a cabinet?
@blastitall5 ай бұрын
The principals of suction will still work outside the cabinet. Provided you have the correct compressor for the nozzle and jet pairing. Moisture is your enemy. Try to keep the media dry.

I get 18 inches of vacuum and my gun shoots like crap, we have two guns in our cabinet and one shoots fine at 15-16 but the other with a higher vacuum does not. Maybe i'm dumb but it makes no sense.

That does seem a little odd. When you say it shoots like crap what is it doing or not doing?
