@basstrom885 жыл бұрын
Maybe it's a ramp/guide so that if you set the cleat down too far forwards you can easily skate back into the clip instead of getting jammed in the cage.
@wumbobo2 жыл бұрын
Late to this- but it’s a ramp to help guide your cleat into the mechanism and prevent false positives. They were in prototype/development for nearly 5 years or so, and they’ve just been released on the new X3 pedals!

@kirbycalitis3455 жыл бұрын
I’m not really sure that makes a lot of difference? There’s cable slack on the bike’s cockpit, and where the cable connects to the RD, and the cable and cable housing is practically the same length so they stretch/bend the same amount so... I’m not really sure? I’d be happy to get educated.

How easy is it to bail mid-air with clip-ins? My biggest fear of switching is not being able to hit the eject button when I need to.
@llamacannon17145 жыл бұрын
Whenever you are adjusted and have ridden a couple of months on clips you automaticly draw the dots when you crash, hardest part is picking up clips and starting to use them. Im a flat pedal rider myself and 8 years of experience on flats will take a long time to adjust to clips.
@Highfiveletsride Жыл бұрын
You can get out of them in the air I do it a lot lol. Once you get the muscle memory it’s second nature.

wow just one of them on flats. I only ride flats and have no plan to switch, but that is just me. I am surprised that there arent that many riding flats.
@xmazurx5 жыл бұрын
Mid air? Likely not; but you'll likely unclip as you go over the bars. :) I personally injured my foot that took almost a year to completely heal due to SPD when I came to a stop. It was night, lost my balance for whatever reason, and one of my feet were next to a rock, so as I started tipping over I could not unclip and my instincts caused me to pull so hard on my foot to get out of the pedal that I seriously strained my foot and fucked something up. I have heard of worse stories due to similar circumstances. I corner much faster on flats anyway, even when on a road bike. Just that added comfort for me. Flats for life!
@LiftedAdventures5 жыл бұрын

@the1sH05 жыл бұрын
as far as i know the if u get over the fact that u have to go sideways to clip out and learned to commit to the clip, than there are quiet a few advantages, like easyer pedaling (and enduro has quiet a lot of that), you can place the the backwheel like you want because the pedals dont leave the shoes, these are the ones that gather right of the top of my head. the biggest downside are, that you have to commit to beeing cliped in :D and many dont like that, plus that if you dont learn proper technic first, you fuck up your riding style really fast i think most of the downhill guys ride clipless too now, as long as bailing out of your bike is not a main concern (like RB rampage) on pure performance clips are better - as long as mental things are not a problem i personally can not imagine to ride clipless.. to scary
@BensMis-adventures5 жыл бұрын
I have SPD on my XC bike but I just can't get myself to commit to clipping in on my enduro bike to punch down a near vertical rock garden. The thought scares the shit out of me
@dryzalmynelli96005 жыл бұрын
@@BensMis-adventures having my feet get bucked off my flats on those rock gardens scares the shit out of me... It's why I'm considering leaving my Crank Bros flats behind and going with something that locks my feet in place... Conversely I've been abusing my flats for 3 seasons now with a couple pins snapped/missing and the edges of the pedal are worn down smooth... I pedal strike too often 🤣😂 Maybe I just need new flats this year.
@ImpulseAudioSpeakers5 жыл бұрын
Sebastian P personally riding flats is too scary. When you ride spd long enough clipping out becomes second nature. When I am crashing my feet come out faster than my hands block my face, like it’s instinct. But if you’re new to Clipless that won’t be the case so it takes a while to learn that instinct.
