How do The Magicians learn to do those intricate spells?

Rejoice, Fillorians! Syfy’s The Magicians is poised to return next week for its third season. Naturally, for a show (and book series) called The Magicians, spell work plays a pretty big part in the show’s mythos. Bringing the spell work to life is choreographer Paul Becker who used finger-tutting as the basis for crafting different spells. In a recent set visit, we spoke with the cast to talk about the process of learning all those intricate moves.

This is just superb, been searching for "spells for money white magic" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Fanubrey Konrayson Eradicator - (do a google search ) ? It is an awesome one of a kind guide for using a secret witchcraft system to get fast success without the normal expense. Ive heard some incredible things about it and my co-worker got great results with it.

It has some plot inconsistencies, in the story, and there are moments where I'm lost because not everything makes sense, if they correct that and improve the dialogues, it would be cool.

According to the books, spellcasting was supposed to be really difficult to do. Even their vicinity to the closest body of water, the sun, or time of day can determine if they get results or not.

Reminder, that this isnt the books. There are some adaptations that try to be really close, this isnt one of them. Its taken the general story, and concepts of the book, and done its own thing with them.

@@MrLordDarlington That was actually included in the tv series (first few episodes)... and part of why it's hard work and talent. A true magician knows the modifications they need to make in order to perform each spell in environments. That's been my pet theory as to why it's slightly different tuts for different people, how attuned they are to magic (Which was confirmed above) as well as the necessary modifications needed.

A lot of this I assume was mental and might not be able to have been seen in the physical hand movement. Magic doesn’t just come from moving your hands, it comes from sheer willpower

@@crabbiejason7261 , yes, most of it is mental, with the hand motions helping to focus and "guide" the magic and intention... It's why some people (e.g. Alice and Fogg) don't have to go through as many motions as other magicians, because theyre more attuned with magic and how it works, and are good/efficient vessels

I can listen Rick Worthy's voice 24/7, he speaks so gentle so good so yet powerful, pronouncing the english words crisp and clear. He's a true professional. He really gives that cool powerful headmaster vibe. Jade's voice was so different here I couldn't recognize.

Out of everyone, and I hate saying, Jade has to be the most authentic, real and smartest woman out of the entire cast. It blew my mind when I interacted with her on Instagram. She is nothing like Kady at ALL. Not a single ounce. She actually schools people on life. And she's gorgeous as fuck so that's the final bonus. Rick is also great. Very powerful voice

I think it’s because they don’t stray far from the original concept of the show lots of shows tend to try to bring something new and end up forgetting what the show was originally about but this show just has a perfect concept

Love this show. Was devastated by the season 4 finale. One observation/critique: you hear a lot about and see some of the “battle magic”… but the Magicians don’t seem to ever use any DEFENSIVE spells. Either you duck and avoid the hex/fireball/lightning/force wave that your adversary is sending at you, or you don’t and your neck gets broken, or your guts cut out, etc, etc. Only the “god” characters seem to have ANY obvious defensive magic, and even that is rarely seen. Even the Persephone goddess character gets cut down as easily as if she was a mortal human. Strange that Grossman and the show writers don’t ever want to show the Magicians defending themselves against magical attacks.

In addition to the scyfy channel, it also airs on showcase, and it does infact get a lot of views, its more well known than some people seem to think, but at the same time, it is still a show that is somewhat niche, and doesnt appeal to everyone

Is the force shove the same for everyone though? Margo uses both hands like a triangle... Quintin and Katy put their fingers through their knuckles and push... and Alice just waves her entire arm. While other magicians like Fogg use both hands with more arcane looks, and Umber/librarian that died from a hex both use one hand
