I was in the same situation. I visited Thailand for the first time in April of this year. Was there for songkron. I asked a couple of my friends to come along. At first they agreed, as time approach they pulled out. I was discouraged at first because I did not want to go by myself then I said to hell with, I am going. Best decision ever. I had such a wonderful time. The people, thai people are so friendly and welcoming. Well, I am already making plans to return next year and I am not asking no one to come along with me.

When I was in Bangkok a few months ago, I went to Club Sugar (Hiphop club). I came across a guy from the US who was with his Thai gf and a male Thai friend. We partied a bit there having drinks and such, but when his gf and the male friend went away, he told me that he had eyes for a group of chicks at another table. One in particular was probably chinese or thai-chinese. He goes over and talks to them, and comes back to me and says "Sorry bro, they don't like black guys"......At first I didn't care. But later my curiosity struck and I had to figure out for myself. At this point, those three are all at the table with the chicks and then I show up. I ask the guy's thai gf if any of those girls hate black guys, so she asks them and they all said NOO!! And one ask, who told you that? I said "Nevermind it's not important". I introduce myself to them all, and they all had the biggest smile on their faces, especially the one the american guy wanted. I looked at him, and he had the most sickest look on his face. It goes to show, that if we did do more approaching and not rely on the word of mouth from other white guys, we'd probably be with a lot of the average sized thai women.

What you said was real. I kept waiting on partners of mine to get their shit together so we could travel through Latin America like we talked about for years. Finally said Fuck it. Booked my ticket, hotel, and sent out a mass email letting them know when I was leaving and if they wanted to join me where I was staying. This was 5 months notice and in the summer. No one joined. I don't know about your experience but I was in the military stationed in South Korea .You're spot on. Alot of military women are queens for a year and they go from dudes using them to go shopping. So one day I ventured out and stopped to get a cellphone and it was on. We went to eat and the rest is history. She was so down to earth and didn't trip on anything. I was the first black man to date her and she was the first South Korean woman I meet. Some of the soldiers some have stories. But some said when some of the South Korean's women will feed you in bed. Forget about what they said and something about positive karma lo and low a behold it came true. I woke up and My Soth Korean had breakfast on this wooden tray and I was in awe. Never in my life that happened. So we established a good relationship and I went back and kept up with her and we began dating again.

I watched a video by a guy who happened to be white from the States living in Thailand and he stated that thai women don't usually go for black men. Claimed he hadn't seen it. This was before I went but once I got there I found that to be so far from the truth! There were plenty of ladies wanting to hook up with me. Maybe because I was from the states I don't know.
