Vapes come in plenty of shapes, sizes and flavours, but what makes them work and which chemicals are in them? Find out with the help of a Chemist at the University of Wollongong who’s collecting vapes and taking them apart to study what’s inside and if it could be bad for people’s health.

Funnily enough, I recall many decades ago that the public consensus was that cigarettes weren't that harmful. Time will tell. We should rely on our common sense to tell us that inhaling/vaping this or any other combination of chemicals will be dangerous to our health. Maybe sometimes in the short term but most certainly it will be extremely dangerous in the longer term.

For the last ten years I have heard nothing but “these ingredients are safe to eat but they have not been studied for inhalation.” Why have there been no studies in all these years? It seems preposterous that something could be so ubiquitous and there be so many patently silly tests out there that no one has conducted any study into the safety of inhaling PG and/or VG

The UK has done hundreds if not thousands of studies on vaping and all agree it's healthier than cigarettes. Obviously not smoking anything is better but it's not like you're inhaling pure air if you don't smoke/vape

@@nancyfahey7518 proud of you for quitting later in life! I’ve seen how hard that can be for our elders. Yes for sure try tobacco and other similar flavours! Also a pen vape (non disposable) I find helps more at first when quitting as it’s a similar feel, hold and puff side! Best of luck!

Honestly, I felt vaping is "better" than smoking a cigarette. If these two were to compare, both has it's "bads". But smoking a cigarette, the most obvious are, you will have bad breath, the cigarette's smokes chokes the entire room and the air is more polluting if it's in a confined room. Besides, cigarette caused stains on tooth, and long term smoking cigarette, it damage tooth such as having cavities. Vaping, I think it's slightly better than smoking cigarettes. It won't stain or caused tooth cavities and having bad breath.
