I'm not great at making music, hell I'm actually pretty average at it, but learning how to create music (whether that be in a DAW or on actual physical instruments) is SO much more rewarding IMO. It's a hell of a lot to learn and mixing is by far the worst part but it feels amazing once you finally know enough to create a good song.

As a music producer... sound design and creation is very difficult, and then proceeding to spend weeks on just vocals makes me want to break every part of my room. And then! There's always that one note that never works with anything, so you have to ask for the vocalist to sing the line again, and you need to redo the dsing again! For the bloody 8th time for the same audio clip. Mixing actually hurts everything and everyone. If you don't do it right, the track is so painful. Not to mention! After listening to the same 16 measures for 3 days to check the mix you hate the song, and you have to come back months later to find out it was fine all along. Also... Fuck Ableton, why is it so hard to actually use a compressor. Oh! And then! You have to master the track! This is after mixing. It makes sure your ears don't bleed, and you're reaching the right volume level. Alright! Back to making Skrillex music.
