Dr. Welty is awesome! A true scholar. I recommend his book published this year on the problem of evil. It is written at the laymen level but useful nonetheless to everyone.

I love Greg Welty! He's a stellar Reformed Christian philosopher. The Gospel Coalition has a freely available short essay titled "The Problem of Evil" by Greg Welty that serves as a solid first port of call on the topic.
