I agree. Set up as she is, she could be just any other extremely well preserved mummy. At least with her white feather headdress, it would be immediately understood that she was considered high status. And if it's too heavy for her remains to support, at least display it in the case with her so that you see both together. This poor child was basically slaughtered (I don't care how gentle suffocation is when you're under the influence at high altitudes) to keep some gods happy... She should be fully recognized as being as important as she is at first sight.

Many religions are centered around dying for a god, Christianity is the only one centered on God dying for you. It is a completely and totally distinct religion where God is kind, forgiving, loves you, and is working everything together to the point He can walk in person with us again on a new earth that is without sin and shame. To explain, God and humans (Adam and eve) walked together in the garden of Eden at the beginning of the world, but since they sinned, and God and sin cannot exist together, we are separated from God unless we repent of our sins and accept Jesus as Lord of our lives (meaning we live to do His will, instead of doing what we want, which is the only way to find real meaning in life, and I and everyone in this world and probably you too, have tried to find meaning in everything else and have bren unable too.). Everyone is quick to attack the outdated practices of ancient civilizations when they’re people of color or “indias” or “savages”, but no one wants to talk about ancient Irish tribal sacrifices that were violent? Or the ancient Greek relationships that were between men and small boys? Or perhaps the sacrifices of Iron Age Britain? Yes we can criticize the past, but it is THE PAST. I was in Arequipa spring 2022 and went to see Jaunita. Several things stood out for me. First was getting my head around this accepted cultural practice intellectually. Many of these little children (4,5,6 year olds) were brought to Cusco by their parents in hopes they would be chosen for this "honor". My understanding is that the families of chosen children were rewarded by an elevation of their family status within their communities. Motivation I suppose? The other thing that this video doesn't mention but was very clear at the museum.....Jaunita's head was bashed in on one side. They contend that she wasn't quite dead when she was placed in her grave, and that they ended her life before burying her. But she was certainly drugged and hyperthermic by this time and certainly suffering from altitude sickness. Coca is still ingested today to alleviate the symptoms.

All things leading to the point we walk together with God and the other ppl who loved Christ on that new earth without sin and shame.

Yeah, the priest is a chimu I think, they were people from the desert so that explains the clothes, but I don't think is right to put a chimu priest on an inca sacrifice ceremony, even considering that the chimus were conquered by the incas, their sacrifice methods were very different.

see a lot of people here commenting on how it was horrible that they killed her and how much pain she would have been feeling One. She according to her people was a chosen one from the gods and had to be sacrificed they treated her as a god Two. They drugged her therefore she felt no pain Three. She believes in this and belief is stronger than pain sometimes, knowing where she was going she was probably peaceful judging her face expression and the way she was found And four. Don’t compare the Mexica or Aztec human sacrifices to the Incan ones The Mexica or Aztec ones where sacrifices with a spear to the heart of a person because if they didn’t they believed that if the world would end And the Incas had a whole different religion! Just because she wasn’t buried in a pyramid doesn’t mean she wasn’t loved by her people

Incas do abuse, conquer, and of course killed and even eaten human meat of weak villages that opposed to obey. Inca empire was one to love battle and expand his domains. there are several history evidence that Spain free those abused villages cooperating with them to end inca empire, thats why still nowadays you can see multiple ethnicities. things didnt happen like history told by england conquers that kicked out spanish colonies told. there still lot of myths and romanticize of incan civilization.

" died peacefully without violence" yeah she was just brutally murdered by intoxication and affixiation... and probably buried still alive... no violence in this...
@f_society15505 жыл бұрын
Violence definition:behavior involving physical force intended to hurt, damage, or kill someone She died a slowly and peaceful death being intoxicated and with the lack of oxygen would've made her unaware that she was slowly dying she just fell asleep and died, a very peaceful way to die in my opinion, with NO violence the intoxication was not poison it was alcohol and the lack of air only made her more drowsy. Strangling her or choking her to death would be a *violent* form of affixiation and might I add she went there willingly she wasn't force to her it was a great honor to die for the gods so yes *No violence*
@UnorthodoxTexan5 жыл бұрын
She believe her death was a great honor and so did her people. Before her death she was treated as a goddess and took part in many ceremonies with the Incan emperor herself. No one there not even herself believed her death to be cruel. She died the way any young woman in that time would want to die.

@franko.19502 жыл бұрын
1000 miles is way off the scale : A long walk, but not that long. About the altitude: it´s not impossible for people who are well adapted: once, I was in a car at 16 000 feet above sea level, wondering how can those people walk in THAT snow with so that level of oxygen. But there they were, almost smiling.
@kattkatt5564 Жыл бұрын
I live 7,000 feet above sea level. I know of people who wanted to live here but couldn’t due to the lower oxygen level.
@ellakersey12149 ай бұрын
I think it's presumptuous of us to assume she walked or was carried all at once. I think this trip probably would have taken weeks. It is my understanding that people who summit Mt. Everest make camp at different elevations for a few days to acclimate themselves to the air at each point. I would think this would have been a similar process.

Hey man .. But was it really what science has said it was ? A ritualistic sacrifice? Or Was she a sacrifice at all? Or did she die of the treatment she received people gave her, because she was in awful pain because she had TB . They probably loaded her up on alcohol and coco as a pain reliever .. because of the tuberculosis? Then when she died they brought her to the atop of the mountain. It took the people probably 2 week to bring her there after she died. Along with the other 2 or 3 children she was found with. Did any of them have TB as well? But never mind about all that. , What the heck is that omen all about ? That lightning strikes to the face all about though?? And. How could lightning strike her in the face , if she was buried alive ?
