Great Meeting You (was on the Pan Am). I totally agree about the family guilt. I do not think I could do the 3 weeks consecutive. I feel those cameras just like to mess with us. lol

It has been closed every time I’ve been there… road was in real good shape! Other than seasonal closures why is it closed so often?

I think every man struggles with this with everything we do. Every job I've ever had I've only had 2-3 weeks of vacation which makes it really hard to find time for myself. I too struggle with leaving my family and feel as though I'm being selfish or they're missing out. I love riding and try to do it as much as possible so we try just to do long weekend trips like Thursday through Sunday. I have a lot of big routes that I want to do but I don't know if they will ever happen just due to not having the time and probably money they would take. Maybe one day KZbin will take off and I'll have all the time I need and get to do all the great stuff that I want to do while I'm able.

I think you nailed it here, and it's something I've thought about often as well. Life is all about balance, and with a family, finding the right balance is sometimes very difficult. How much of my time off is for me, for the home, for the wife, for the wife and kids, and even for family that may not live close by. It's a struggle for sure!!

I like the idea of long weekend adventures, and try to do them as often as possible! The trip that I want to do is in the western states which would require much more time. More time than I’ve been willing to take away from family and responsibilities… also there’s the ticking of the clock… hopefully I’m riding ADV for years to come, but it’s in my head….
@TheBeardedGrump Жыл бұрын
@@ridingthethinlines I get that. I want to do a trip or 2 out west too but I don't know if I'll ever get the time that is needed. I get it about the clock ticking too because my back is pretty bad off from some previous injuries so I don't know how much longer I have to ride like I want to
@TheBeardedGrump Жыл бұрын
@@Motoramblings it definitely is but I just hope I don't have regrets when the time comes that I can't do this stuff anymore and I didn't get to do all the things I wanted to do

@@TheBeardedGrump that’s part of the balance as well. Roger stated he most likely won’t retire when he’s eligible, I did, mainly because I have a fear that my health would stop me earlier than most people…. Hopefully next year, I’m start doing the trips, and adventures I’ve been dreaming of

Hello love listening to your voice. this was a fun video. Jim rides every opportunity possible. If he is going to gone for a while he takes me. He is still working and most likely will till he is Jim likes to ride more then I do. He actually never goes just by himself. I don't go by myself either. The Younger people seem to do it and are comfortable about it. H ate when I talk and nothing is recording. It never comes out as good the second time. 💕NonnaGrace 🐓 It was great meeting you at Vamm.
