You can’t stop Wallbreakers. They were specifically designed to drain money. The only way to “beat them” is Hope Supercell makes a stronger evolution.

what people don’t say. Is that if first stage of EVO wallbreakers was knocked off close enough to hit the tower. They will deal damage twice. First when first stage knocks off and second time when they reach the tower. So technically it’s a 2 elixir card with a potential 1500 damage even if you counter them late

The Runners deal less damage. Than when they are on the Barrel. The runners at lvl 15 do 570 per hit and the ones on the Barrel do 855 per hit. So if both barrels hit it does 1,710 total damage. To where as the Runners if both connect deal 1040 damage.
