i LOVE what youve done in modifying all those enclosures! The spout on the fruit flies would have saved me so much time feeding my teenies! this is such a fantastic idea! :)

Thanks!!! I saw someone in a facebook group show this solution last year and my mind was blown! Definitely a huuuuge game changer!

I do the fruit flies a bit different, but I like your method. Last year I made a fruit fly culture inside a condiment bottle and I used a milkshake/frappuccino cup with a domed lid. I put pantyhose over the straw area and put a curly que pipe cleaner in the cup for them to be able to walk and sit and climb on something. Anyway, I used a paper hole punch and got a mini cork, and I would use the condiment bottle into the cork hole and feed the babies that way. Now I still use the condiment bottle, but the culture isn't in there, just a bunch of excelsior, and some breathing holes. I then cool down the FFF and use a funnel. I put the condiment bottle in the sink with the funnel in it. Then I drop some FFF in there, then use the condiment bottle to feed. If I keep it slightly misted, the FFF will last 4 or so days. I start a new culture every week then every other week as needed.

I have definitely seen it done that way too! I contemplated doing a condiment bottle but I haven't started making my own cultures yet. I really should though. Feeding babies is definitely a learning curve and everyone kinda has their own process which is awesome! As long as the jumpers get fed, it doesn't matter lol. Thanks for sharing with me!

I had a baby dwarf-tarantula of Cyriocosmus Elegans species. I prefer crickets as feeder exclusively, so I fed it torn-off leg of a small cricket. I pushed the leg around delicately with my tweezers to simulate it being alive 😆And it attacked and ate the leg. It is grown up now.

I have little spiders at home that run really fast and jump as well. Catching them is pretty hard, but I know one is guarding something in a tub with soil as it is always there. It was usually sitting in a bowl, but moved out about a week ago.

This was a great idea!!! ❤ Do you have a video sharing when to separate babies fr mama spider and when to separate babies individually
@spookysweetspoods16 ай бұрын
Thanks! And no, not yet. Maybe eventually I will! Usually I separate them from momma when she is out more roaming for food, or if the babies are starting to venture out of the nest.

I separate them when the babies leave the nest. Because the holes in my Mama's enclosures are small, but big enough for the babies to walk on out. So, as they leave the nest, they get put into a baby communal enclosure.

Do they eat ants??
@spookysweetspoods12 ай бұрын
No, that's one that I think most of us keepers avoid because ants are really mean and will attack the spider. So I would avoid ants for sure

ok, I have a new spider and it’s hard for me to catch flies and can’t buy stuff for him/her they are realy small what do I feed them?
@spookysweetspoods12 ай бұрын
@Starissillydontuthink unfortunately you have to probably buy stuff. Petco/petsmart has flightless fruitflies or i buy stuff online from places like joshs frogs
