Hi, Morgan. My name is Anastassia, I m from Russia. I ride husqvarna tc 125, 2018. For a long 3 years I hated my mikuni, many sparks gone to the trash can. When I watched your video, I saw the light. I cleaned my carburetor and replaced the gaskets. Today, at the first training session, I smelled victory! Thank you very much for sharing your experience!

If you try a keihin pwk carburetor 36mm (trail riding)or 38mm (racing) you will forget about the tmx. The tmx is harder hitting the keihin is broader and the keihin runs better

I installed the jet block gasket, and O ring for the seat, for some reason when I replace the o rings they keep shaving off a tiny bit when I push it down. Even with a little oil for lube. Kind of unsettling. I went with JD jetting Rec and did a few of the Jarvis mods. I will say the new needle smoothed out that 1/4 to 1/2 blubber pretty nicely. Zero throttle hesitation and really crisp feel throughout the RPM range. I still have a bit of detonation so I’m thinking my squish is shat. Torn between the rk tek head/ milling my head at a shop/ trying a thinner base gasket. Ofcourse I always want the budget approach but In the long run it always seems like spending the money once makes the most sense 😑 thanks for all your vids man been a big help 🤙🏻 God bless

I do have a question though. the new gasket from jd - the rectangularish cutout at the top. should the raised bit with the two little holes on the piece it installs against fit into this area so that the gasket sits completely flush before install? mine didnt and sort of sat on top which is why i had to use grease to keep it in place and I assumed once its installed and tightened then it will press nicely. i tried to press it flat with my fingers to get this area to pop into the cutout on the new gasket but it wouldnt go. really hoping i did it right and that the shape of my new gasket wasnt off or anything

Desperate for some advice. So I have a 2018 300 XC-W with the Mikuni carb. I've done the same update's as your video shows and at this point Im at a loss. I went for a ride last weekend at about 8000ft. I have the bike jetted per JD jetting for that altitude. The issue Im having is that number one, the bike wont idle no matter how much I mess with the air screw or idle screw. The engine will fall flat on its face any time you try to give it gas and I've had a hanging idle concern since day one. Air filter is clean, reed block cage is tight and I even disassembled and clean the carb incase any dirt might have gone in there. Any advice before I throw this mikuni in the trash? Thanks..
@highlandcycles

Andre Mardian dang it! That is not normal at all but sounds like you have an air leak. It would be weird but you might have a leak in the left side main seal. I would take that cover off, run it and spray some brake cleaner or like substance in there to see if it changes the running. You can call us at 970-240-2197 if you’d like to talk about it.

Thanks for sharing. I do have a question. I just put a JD Jet kit in my 300xc. The kit came with a little ring. Not the spacer washer FYI. Wasn’t really clear in the instructions but I believe you are supposed to put the in the top of the slide and then the needle in the correct clip position for your elevation. Did you do that on this carb or did you leave that out? What does that ring do? Thanks in advance.
@highlandcycles

Justin Sawyer great question. That ring is to use when you use the shim. If you look in the instructions you’ll see it. If you don’t use the shim you don’t need it.
