This is excellent Dr, thank you. I finally can explain why I have missed a couple of key games (as far as I remember, every time I was I, flow state / the zone… it was not a final, but a regular game or against very superior teams where loosing was so obvious that you are not focused on winning… nor loosing in that case 😂)

This great! so glad I stumbled upon your videos.This is so on the nose, I play roller derby and I can not get out of my head and just stay in the zone and not worry about my opponents. But I will take this advice and try it out! Thank you!

Hi Dr. Goldberg, thanks for the great video! What advice would you have for a Quarterback who's competing for the starting job with another QB, and overcoming the pressure of having to come on up with your performance?
@TheCompetitivedge4 жыл бұрын
The key here is to keep your focus on what YOU are doing and when you're under competitive pressure, making sure that your focus stays on the action, on "seeing, reading and reacting" and away from your thoughts about your performance, what the coaches may be thinking about you or what the other quarterback is doing. You don't out-compete another by focusing on them and what they have done! That will simply make you more anxious, undermine your confidence and distract you from focusing on what is important! So when you find yourself thinking about your competition or the coaches, or evaluating what you just did or what you think you need to do, you want to immediately bring your focus back to the action and this play right now!

I would add just hearing other sports phycologist is just to make peace with the vary worst outcome but don't git stuck in it. Example say u scared of loseing . We'll get over the fear of loseing then lol. Make peace with knowing even if it happens you're gonna move on with life eventually and so will everyone else . Once u realize even the worst ain't that bad u really become fearless and can go at it hard with recklace abandon . Just relax and go .
