9:08 all that work and cost and your conclusion is to go back ITB anyway. Well, true for us all, the analog gear is mostly for show, and our own entertainment. 15 years ago I did do the CLA recall approach where you never touch your knobs and just automate everything in the DAW for a while, but few really care about analog anymore, so I don't buy expensive analog anymore. I do have fun building analog gear though.

For mixing yes, for recording multiple sources at a time like bands for example, no way im doing that in the box only

@@thomasvopstal One would expect to say the same about live show mixing, except it's all gone digital now too.

Thomas, many musicians, engineers, producers, etc… don’t have the access to demo things like you do. We’d love to have real shootouts of gear that was meant to fill a gap in the market, for example: most AudioScape gear vs Stam Audio’s, and their products against Chandler Limited, Retro Instruments, Pultec, etc…I mean, AudioScape and Stam Audio are competing directly, and people want to know about how their products stack against the “expensive ones”(Universal Audio, UTA, Chandler Limited, Retro Instruments, Sony, Neumann, etc…

It sounds like youre not familiar with my Plugin vs Hardware series? I have done dozens of shootouts. All the gear in the studuo you see in this video, i have made a comparison video on! You can find them all on my channel and i will ofcourse continue to make more!

@@thomasvopstal Yes, of course I've seen the plugin vs hardware series, and I really appreciate the awesome info. I meant hardware vs hardware, specially from companies like AudioScape and Stan Audio. Thank you for the great videos.

So where do you position the machine room for an SSL in a perfect situation and do you run the lines from the console to the machine room under floor or thru wall etc
@thomasvopstal14 күн бұрын
The machine room can be anywhere as long as it’s isolated well enough and it’s not too far away from the console because the longer the cable the more drop in current you need to compensate. Ideally you’d run the cables under the floor like in this studio, where the cables just come out of the floor right below the patchbay. but you can also run them over the floor and theough the walls. Makes your life easier, but your studio a little uglier😂
