How Do You Know If You Have The Holy Spirit In You?

In this episode Dr. Betters answers the question, "Hello, I ask this question as someone who is new to the Christian faith and I still have lots of questions. One of the questions I have is how does one know if they truly have the Holy Spirit? I’ve known about the truth of God for about a year but although I knew the truth, I never made the decision to truly become one of his children. That all changed a few days ago when I decided that I should seek God and stop relying on my worldly thoughts. Now a few days into my walk with Christ I’m questioning if I truly am saved and have the Holy Spirit in me. Not much has changed since I was saved but I see myself reading his word more, praying more, and being more conscience of the things I do. Are these signs that I have the Holy Spirit? I’m just a little confused and would love some guidance. Thank you for all you do God bless."

Amen, it is totally unnatural to desire the Bible, to want to pray. Very unnatural to love Christ. And most unnatural to grow into actually delighting in Christ. It takes the supernatural Holy Spirit to bring our being in those desires. And to grow more and more in Him it takes, asking, striving and abiding. After I wrote here earlier it was by no means trying to top Dr. Betters answer. It was something I felt that I needed to say. I do not understand all of The Bible. It can be very confusing. What I said here was a way of me saying I do agree with Dr. Betters. And for years and years some of us have been scared into thinking God is out to get us and punish us and that is not true. He is our Father.

When you have accepted Jesus Christ as your savior, he took the stone heart we have out and replaced it with a different heart. One which automatically tells us when we have done something wrong. We become more aware of what God wants for our life. And Christ also stated he would give us a helper, that helper being The Holy Spirit. You are full of The Holy Spirit as you will ever be. God sealed that And that is because God lives in your heart. You are a changed person. But it is all possible by Grace by God's grace. That is what makes makes it all possible for us. It's easy because of his grace. Too many people try to make it hard. It is not hard because we are not accepted because of our works or deeds. When Christ died on the cross and shed his blood, that action by him washed away our sins in the past, in the present, and the future. That is proved when he died on the cross and right before he died he said, "it is finished." And went to sit by the right hand of our God.

Hello Dr. Betters. Good morning to you from Philippines :) I just want you to know that I am so blessed by all your videos. You have reached me through this and I thank God for this. This is an indication that God is truly calling me. I have the same feeling by the one asking tou the question. But one thing is different. I am still not sure that I am saved. I am afraid God will forsake me. Is this just normal? Is this too an indication that I have the holy spirit? I hope you will notice my question. God bless you even more.

1 Corinthians 1:4-8. The Grace of God is given to you by Christ Jesus that you be enriched by him. How's the Grace of God given & for what is it given? First the testimony of Christ(Baptism of the Holy Ghost) was confirmed in believers verse 6 Believers are enriched in utterance (Speaking in tongues and Prophesies) & knowledge after receiving the Spirit Baptism confirmation in verses 5 and 6. These gifts are confirmed in believers to wait for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ in verse 6 and 7. (The Holy Ghost) verse 8 who shall also confirm you unto to the end, blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. Receive the testimony of Christ and be you confirmed with utterance and prophecy and knowledge, growing blameless for the day of Jesus Christ. It’s just characteristic of people who have Jesus. If you have the Holy Spirit, craving Jesus and his word comes alone. And so do the fruits of the spirit

Is repentance leaving all sin and then getting saved ? I still smoke cigarettes !! Does that mean I’m not truly repented and gotten saved? Do we have to clean ourselves up in order to be in the catergory of someone who has truly repented ??

I've been struggling with if i am truly saved. the past week or 2 I've been hungry for gods word but it's kinda off and on. some times i do sometimes i don't. i'm very worried lately if i am saved. i want to believe in Jesus but i can't. i doubt and just can't believe. i don't what to do i've trying to believe almost a year. please help. god bless amen.

The only evidence in scripture given that a believer has recieved the Holy Spirit when they recieved is the speaking in tongues( Acts ch.2,10,and ch.19). Without this initial evidence ,the believer has no scriptural proof that they have recieved the Holy Spirit yet.
