What also has to be considered is that Afib is progressive so drugs may eventually not be sufficient and the earlier an ablation is performed the more likely it is to succeeed

My AFib comes in clusters. I can go a month or even two without and then, suddenly it comes on for 4-5 days at a time. Always coming on around 9 am and going away around 7 pm every day. It's weird and I hate it. I am on Diltiazem 340 mg for high blood pressure. So far my cardiologist says I am not a candidate for ablation, but when I'm going through it, I really wonder about it. Sometimes feel quite faint. Excercising while it's happening though seems to calm it momentarily.

I am on Diltiazem 120mg x3 extended release, I'm still in AF, so I'm getting a Blation.....I'm looking forward to it as I am sleeping 12 hours sometimes longer per day! I just wondered how did other Patients feel before their Ablation Procedure? And how did they feel after it? I'm from New Zealand... but that has nothing to do with we people feel, A Fib, etc... except I have to say I love the USA.

Thank you for that information. I recently had an a fib episode after staying up all night drinking coffee and taking energy drinks and in the morning I went and a fibrillation which had to be broken with amio took about 12 to 15 hours I fell asleep on the drip and I came out of the afib and this is the 2nd time it happened to mom the other time was 6 years ago and initially the doctor wanted to do an oblation right away and I was really hesitant because I was scared of the side effects I don't have any issues I have no side effect for anything and I don't have a fib constantly both times were brought on by extreme caffeine and no sleep over 6 years apart!
