Very to the point, been in propane business for 43 years. Nice video.

This video is NOT about how to refill a disposable Propane tanks. It's completely off point.

So, if you don't recheck weight after hooking up the nozzle, I could be getting shorted?

where can I purchase a hose with valves from large tank to fill my 20 gal tank
@crashland57112 жыл бұрын
Since all tanks have the OPD valve that cuts off the gas flow when full, what is the use to weigh the tank anymore. That seems to be a leftover from the days before the OPD valves were mandatory.

True we don’t use it we’re I work. I feel it may be regulation though.

Legally DOT tanks must be filled by weight. The place I go to fills to the dip tube. OPD valves fail quite frequently and are a waste of $30.

Depends on state and local laws on wether a tank can be filled by volume or weight. My state requires to fill by weight. The only exception is autogas and mounted ASME tanks on RVs and Foodtrucks. Some simple math and you know exactly how much that particular tank should weigh when full.

@@marshall0792 And whether or not you have to be DOT complaint.

an opd can fail, and they do frequently. A scale is the only proper and safe way to fill.

Those are standard refillable propane tanks, not disposable type.

You could explain the protective fence around your fill set up and other safety features in a commercial fill unit. Lots of mystery there.
@crashland57112 жыл бұрын
The fence is to keep people out who don't belong there, like all fences are for.

Like like like. I thought I did the same thing but followed closely again. Then, boom working grill. Thank you

Nice step by step. Only problem I have is you 1075 label is faded and your fire extinguisher shouldn't be mounted so closely to the most likely source of fire, your propane transfer point. Sorry, I was a safety auditor in the propane world.

Yeah place I go to doesn't use a scale or do the bleeder valve. Probably should be finding a new place I guess.

Did you learn how to refill a disposable Propane tank? ,,,,,,No.. you did not.

Good to know. Just got salvage rights to a large tank at a filling station . Going to fill everyone's tanks for free until its empty. The bankrupt company left this huge tank filled . And about 20 empty tanks . Some 20 pound and some 100 pound . We can help people and make salvage money at the same time

The title of this video is not related to the video. The tanks he shows are refillable. Disposable tanks should never be refilled. (Yes, I do realize that is not what he was talking about.) Some people refill the little 1# camp tanks (the green Coleman ones). You really shouldn't do that. The fine in the US for transporting a refilled 1# tank is up to $500,000 and five years in prison. So, it's not really worth the $3 you would save. Don't you agree ? Also, if it fails and blows up, you would be liable for criminal negligence for any property damage or injury. That could run into the millions of dollars. So... DO NOT REFILL DISPOSABLE TANKS !
