Often we get too distracted, I agree. The wights and Weyland speak clearer when I'm sweating in the forge than when I'm doing anything else, to me. Helps that I live in the sticks though. But sometimes, that success or failure forging is just my learning or lack of skill, and not a God or Goddess

Your enthusiasm is quite addictive. I really enjoy the videos you shoot here in Germany. Not only because I'm German, but because you improvise and keep little things like the ambulance or the lady who guided the other tourists in. Btw, the way you counted the time between the siren signals cracked me up! Your introduction in German was really good and you showed that there isn't really a word for Norse Pagan in German. It's hard to explain to my friends what I'm studying (not yet really there too actually call me a Norse pagan) without dancing aground the matter. Mostly, I call it Germanic religion or belief. The advice you have is spot on. I've had some moments where I wondered if that was a good that spoke to me or maybe one of the land sprites. I didn't bother so much with finding that one out ( like I said, not there yet), but have thanks to whoever it was for the experience. To let the Besserwisser (almost every nation seems to know this German word - I wonder why) get the best of me. The "Valkyrie" is an angel of peace, Friedensengel. It's there to remember the end of the German-French war, I believe. Have you been to Haitabu the last time you were here? If not, you should stop there. It's nice, even if it has become a little too fancy and tourist-y over the past years. Schleswig is a really cute city too. The whole are speaks to me and you can almost still see the longboats roll in. Sorry for the long and random comment. Basically, I just wanted to say thanks.

Disconnecting from the modern world and meditation is Key. You should be versed enough in your craft to hear the call of the God and Goddess. If I have a question, I’ll ask for a sign, and I’ll receive an answer from the right Deities. And yes I’ve personally had a Raven appear over my vehicle and stay with me for a while. Question was answered and sign confirmed and I won my Lawsuit the next Day.

For the middle part of my teenage years, I went through waves of longing. Intense nostalgia for a landscape, a lifestyle, a culture that I felt was long gone and mostly forgotten. It was Norse and Celtic energies. I could feel it in my DNA. It was simultaneously beautiful and painful. Comforting and sad. I wanted to go to a place that felt like home. The only thing I could do was listen to certain types of music: Agalloch, Gallowbraid, Caladan Brood, Summoning, Vali, Empyrium, Osi and the Jupiter, music that is for the most part very modern, yet somehow it was the closest thing to what I was feeling. The only thing I had in the external world that gave me some sense of relief. That feeling would come in waves. It could linger all day. It could be just a couple minutes of intense feeling. Enough time to feel like a past life memory was surfacing, but I would immediately try to focus in on it and actually remember, and then the feeling would disappear. This pattern happened not only with these places and times, but also other things: midwestern/southern American culture a hundred years ago. The Victorian era in England. Some kind of underground technological dystopia (this was as strong as the Norse/Celtic one, and I could only scratch the itch with certain types of music, for example Ministry's album Filth Pig, and the band Ice Ages, side project of band Summoning). There's probably more I'm not remembering. Because of this, I have always believed this phenomenon to be a resonance with past lives that are strongly connected with this one. The Norse thing came first. It happened out of nowhere. I woke up one morning at age 14 with a sudden interest I had never had before. I had no interest in studying the Norse gods. I didn't care to study their history. I felt like it wasn't what I was looking for. I was looking for a memory and I was looking for the true history, not the watered down bits and pieces we have left. I'm starting to open up to the idea of working with the ancient gods. It still doesn't really make sense to me how all that works, but I want to learn what it's all about and what the process is like. Could my experience be interpreted as a calling from the old gods? Did they initiate this whole memory process? Is it possible that working with them in my past lives left soul contracts for them to show up and guide me through the darkness I was dealing with? Something has guided me. That could be my higher self and my spirit guides, but who are spirit guides? Why did I have a vision in a dream at 18 in which I was visited by a very special crow that sat on my arm in the most beautiful path through a forest in autumn, summer, and spring simultaneously, giving me a taste of the heavenly perfection that our planet is capable of to carry me through the threat of hopelessness? Was it just the energy of what crows represent or a visit from a god?

Maybe I can get some insight here. My daughter at age 10 was in a scary situation. She told me someone came to her lying in the bed and laid with her and rubbed her back and told her everything was going to be ok, he was proud of her, she was super strong and going to do great things. Your mom and dad love you very much and He really meant it. She preceded to say “you know how people tell you things just to make you feel better? I could tell he really meant it. “ She said “I was able to see what you were doing and he said you think about me all the time. She also said . He isn’t brown or white he is like ----. Which is a biracial bff she had at the time. I ask her “so are you ok now and can I stop worrying about you at -----? ( she was at a school where she had to stay overnight for a short period of time.) She said yes I am fine. She also told me he was wearing white and he had something like a sword. My daughter always had a great imagination, so I did believe her but obviously coming from a 10 year old questioned it somewhat. Well my mother passed away when she was 18 and they were very close. She struggled to go to my moms house for several months and one day she said out of no where she was just led to go visit her papa. It was not strange and she felt comfortable with my mom not there. She said “I don’t cry over MiMi anymore. She said bc I can feel her. She went on to describe the feeling. It wasn’t visual, but like sitting beside her in the car for example. So at 18 I ask her. Remember when you were at school? I know how you have always been very imaginative. Do you remember what you told me? She immediately said yes! How do you ever forget something like that? I’m not familiar with any of this, but I am starting to study it a little more. I hope I explained everything well. She can’t be around a lot of negative energy bc she picks up on it and causes her anxiety. Does anyone have any insight? She has had 2 close calls with death. Once at age 2 (cancer and tumor ruptured and was bleeding out internally). At age 5 another experience, but not as severe to my knowledge, but again required immediate surgery with not 100% sure of the outcome. She is a very typical 21 year old, but even she feels something is different. She once ask if she could talk to someone to figure out what it is. 🤷♀️ She is definitely a strong strong individual/ warrior (in our eyes). She has been through so much and has always had to work extremely hard at what seemed to come easy to her peers. Now at age 21 she does struggle more with confidence in her abilities. So capable of much more than she sees.

I remember a while back, I had gotten sensations when the still air suddenly blew passed me but I hadn't known how to put it to words. At some point after this happened on multiple days, I spoke out in a sense of prayer from the heart and mind. Asking for whatever or whomever was causing such a sense "politely" to do so again. Each time I did this, the air went from still or gentle breezes to an abrupt burst of wind that came and calmed moments later around me. But it truly felt like there was something or someone there trying to speak to me. Unfortunately I also come from a very pressurized, Christian, monotheistic household so my explaining this experiences to family was met with "It's just the weather." So honestly to this day I'm not sure who might've been trying to reach out to me. I am still new to Norse Paganism, but I chose to move in the direction of it as I felt a pull to such more so than the other pantheons. I just wish I knew who it was so I might try to reach out to them now that I have more religious freedom. :(

Odin uses Ravens as messengers. When i see a Raven I don’t think that Raven is literally Odin. I see it more as Odin is staying informed on my life and my path. Doesn’t mean Odin is literally next to me because i see A LOT of ravens, so that would be a lot of time just watching me drive/ walk around It’s more of Odin is with me as in staying informed on my life. Sometimes when I’m in a ruff spot and need reminder of my faith in the Gods i will ask Odin to send me a Raven and within an hour I’ll see one. I would never expect Odin himself to come see me, but to just send a message to a Raven to give me a fly by to reinforce my faith isn’t a great burden to ask for. So i do feel that Odin is with me when i see a raven.

I do have a pull towards snakes in general and have had weird connections with them, along with really weird dreams of Loki(one was of me being randomly in a Swedish forest with my sister for some reason and i was showing her this stone altar i had set up when a snake slithered onto my hand which turned into Loki).. so i suspect Loki might be reaching out too.

Great video. Thank you. Do you have any advice for those of us that are called or drawn toward deities that are sometimes opposed to the Aesir and Vanir - gods like Fenrir, Hel, and Jormungandr? I know myself and several others have been strongly drawn toward Fenrir, and we get lots of eye-rolls and foul words from other, more mainstream Norse Pagans. Rökkatru seems like the term for us, but I'm looking for fellowship, not prejudice from my fellow Pagans - and I truly don't feel like I chose Fenrir. I fully believe he chose me. I'd like to know what you think. Thanks again.

First and foremost I would never do that to you. This faith has many branches and any of the Gods will get your attention. If someone who claims they are a pagan and treats you with disdain, truly does not have the spirit of this faith. I, myself, do not follow any given family of the Gods. I'm drawn to water and forest and find that I have a relationship more with Njord, Freyja and Sigyn of the Vanir. But, Hel has been coming to me so to speak in the side door and I welcome her. If we ever met, rest assure that I would treat you with upmost respect, sit down with drinks of choice and talk about experiences. Stay true to your convictions. The Gods are with you. 😊

I don't think crows are associated with Odin. I see crows all the time, but ravens on the other hand, I don't recall ever seeing a raven prior to becoming a polytheist. I can understand mixing the two type of birds up with each other, but it's important to learn how to tell a raven from a crow if you want to notice signs from Odin. Ravens are generally larger, with longer tail feathers and a thicker beak.
@TacticoolVIKINGBeard2 жыл бұрын
Ravens are extremely uncommon where i live. I see crows all tge time here but on that note occasionally i get a gut feeling and a tickle up the spine occasionally when i see them at certain encounters especially at work (i work with plants in an outdoor nursery so my job is to care for them and try to find them a good home. @ladygrey74252 жыл бұрын
I also think the confusion comes from mostly Midwestern pagans. Here, ravens are virtually non-existant, and the closest thing we have are crows. Much of it has to do with the flat, grassy terrain, which ravens tend to avoid but crows love.

@@ladygrey7425 Fair enough. It's probably reasonable to assume that Odin would send a crow in place of a raven if there are no ravens in the vicinity.

And also, probably the most important one is that; the god contacting you may not be in the pantheon you want.

I had a strange experience for months, I was taking boxing hours and one day,on a Training there was a man, for me was he old I was 17, grey hair,long beard lomg clothes and with a hat. I came up from the door to change my clothes he was also on that training and as I changed my clothes he spoke to me, he was so wise, I thinked on Odin all the time, maybe the the grey haired men was just a man, who wanted to take a few ours in boxing but I feelt there something I looked at him I just have seen Odin in him, I had a strange but a good experience that day, and still when I'm thinking on that man, I'm asking myself.. was that Odin?

A enormous flock of ravens were cawing and circling (swooping) around my ex-husbands house. Ive been taking my things from my old place... I took it as Odin warning me and didn't go into the home. My ex has had erratic behavior and I do believe Odins presence was there as a warning. I'm learning to listen to the God's, be Mindful and present.

I am a new Nordic pagan… which honestly I feel as if I don’t even deserve to be called that, but I was originally a Christian. I believe that the gods, though I may not know who exactly I worship, are definitely real in the world. What initially drew me to Nordic paganism is the connection to nature. Is there any advice for possibly finding a community of people who believe the same? One other question, what if you haven’t had a sign shown to you.

I recently became norse pagan and just two days ago I saw two ravens since becoming norse pagan and I'm pretty sure I connected with Odin I also read that he's also the God of poets and just yesterday I wrote a poem could that be Odins way of possibly reaching out since I connected with him?

Have an honest question because I seen your videos of offerings, connecting to the Old gods, building a relationship with them. And I’m wondering if it’s commonplace to have experiences, present offerings, and having a relationship with Loki? I’ve heard a lot of having them with other Gods and Goddesses, and yet to have seen anyone “so far” mentioning if they had one of Loki. Would it be seen as odd even for others of Norse paganism? I’m not entirely sure which is why I ask. I apologize if it might seem like a silly question.

@@Nils_Ironwolf Oh boy, I'm trying to do research but it's getting overwhelming. I'm 22 and have had signs show to me the past couple years, but just now acknowledging them. Few months ago I had a demon or some higher power try to possess me. Cold room, shakes, etc. I've lost 6 loved ones in the last 6 years, and most them have given me signs of either reincarnation or by symbols. I started a new job 6 months ago, and one my coworkers has a Valknut decal on his car. I think that was definitely a sign from my dad, as he was huge into Norse/Vikings. Again, I'm not well versed in this stuff. Willing to learn, but I'm slow 😅

And the other thing I always ask myself, is this real? Or is it my fantasy, my ego?
@Anton_the_Vampire2 жыл бұрын
I need to ask something that's bugging me. Please bear with me. My very 1st Deity connection wasn't Norse, it was to Apollo. (I was 15 yrs old) I know it was him because I asked for a sign & the sky changed colour to PINK. Since my 20s though I've considered myself a Norse Pagan (I'm now 47) & mostly drawn to Baldr, but these last few months I've felt 2 influences strongly; Odin (I don't know why & not Baldr), & Apollo again. So I have 2 questions, 1st, what advice do you have if non-Norse deities want to work with me? How do I square that with my Norse patrons? 2nd, how would I know if Baldr was actually trying to contact me? What signs can I look for? Thanks, I do feel quite muddled on this.
