Hello! I’m new to Norse Paganism, and I am glad that I found your channel. Before I did, I didn’t know what to do, what the religion really was, and how to start. Your videos have helped me feel the gods around me, and I’ve become more connected with the nature around me as well. Thank you for helping me start on this path.

I'm getting ready to create a piece of artwork for a very dear friend of mine of Norse heritage. It occurred to me to use runes in the process to add depth, meaning and protection, but have scant knowledge of such things. I searched YT for help getting started, and this video was the first one I chose to watch. Mind blown. I took copious notes. Everything you shared was exactly what I needed to hear to build on what knowledge, exposure and experience I've had to date. This was the precise information I needed to finally start on my deep and lifelong delve into the study and practice of the meanings, creations and applications of bindrune spell work. I can't thank you enough. Skål!

My own personal experience with the runes is that overtime I've attributed their *'mysteries'* as something akin to musical notes; one of the reasons I love the method of single instrument versus an orchestra you used. Each note itself is something profound and can easily stand alone, with variations between pitches, vibrato, et cetera, that can be used towards various effects and situations, yet when strung together in bindrunes allows for short *'riffs'* of music all the way to entire songs to be played. The music's effects are determined mostly by the intent in the making of bindrunes, as well as the person's understanding of the depth of the bindrune in general. Often I've heard that this *'music'* is a tool geared towards speaking to the *'otherworldly'* or otherwise spiritual/supernatural realms of existence, and that the deeper the meanings in the bindrune -- the more seemingly elusive, symbolic, or hidden the interwoven meanings behind your mixtures -- the stronger the force behind your intent; the stronger the signal or conveyed message for said effect. This depth from what I've found can come from anything you might think of; it can be simply the relationship between two or more runes -- their positions in the Futhark or their respective columns or their esoteric relationships *(ie, Inguz and Jera)*, it could be their numerological meanings like the number 13 often tied to death/rebirth, truly anything you might discover/imagine. My biggest case of runic work success and learning comes from my old friend's request to see more ghosts in his house (long story short, his home was something of a hotspot for randomly seeing such phenomena) and I carved out a rune on a beam in his attic as a welcome mat. I specifically stated *"Ancestors of 'X' are welcome to visit in this welcoming home, but only in peace"*; didn't want anything getting bright ideas afterall. The end of it was quite funny as it totally worked -- he got so many visitations afterwards it was unreal -- yet a family member of his outright demanded that I take the runes down as she hadn't had a moment of peace since. Goes to show that the runes can work, yet be cautious of overreaching and accuracy. Also, divination is its own basket of fun/terror to use, but this post is already in tl;dr territory.
@canagan99673 жыл бұрын
On Divination for those still interested, I've experienced a few good castings and did a lot of reading there and honestly it can sometimes feel like it demands a lot of memorization to properly use. I would suggest to not be ashamed of just flipping open a book and using references to weed out the meanings behind runic castings, and even doing ritual practices outlined in rune books to make the practice more... well, *'holy'* and seperated from mundane practice, but above all I suggest two points to keep in mind. Runes in my experience for divination are blunt and powerful, yet broad stroak tools in comparison to... say tarot. If you want a yes/no answer, or something oddly specific to be told to you, you might need a tool like tarot or a seer. The Runes for divination work wonderfully for me, and I've managed to glean some good readings on generalities, like once I asked it if me finding a new group to practice my faith with was a good idea, and in short they told me that I had the inner strength to provide all the faith-based strength I needed. Made me feel pretty good about myself. That leads to point number two, the one where The Runes might also answer the deeper questions in your heart, not necessarily the ones you ask. They may pry deeper and more to what you need help with, so if an answer you recieve seems nonsensical, meditate and think on it for a bit; the revelation might surprise you. A good example might be you ask *'does this girl like me'* and the answer might be like *'murkstave wunjo'*. Whether she likes you or not, it might be saying such a relationship is doomed, or there will be much displeasure within it. A third point now that i think of it would definitely be sourcing rune meanings. Many people have different views of The Runes, even common ones, and the complexities between bright stave and murk stave might be enough to befuddle some websites and even authors. Some websites go for the barest and most basic meanings, others go wild with nigh on fantasy ideas; some are even outright wrong depending on your views. Make sure that you get at least an accurate or decently sourced material to learn The Runes to a familiarity, and then the deeper mysteries come with time and exposure; thinking on them and generally speaking meditation on them.

I got my first tattoo a week ago and it includes the Algiz rune in protection of my children. It means so much to me. I’m planning on doing an activation ritual during the Aquarius full moon. I did a ritual before the tattoo and mentally as the tattoo was being done, but now that it is a part of my body I am ready to take that final step in activation. It really means so much when it is on your skin and part of you.

Gandalf's rune is actually the letter for the hard g sound in the Cirth alphabet. It is runic in style, but it's not the Fehu rune. It is what the Dwarves used to write Khuzdul, their native language. Khuzdul was created by Tolkien through inspiration from Semitic languages.

On galdr and runes, I would recommend the works of Lars Magnar Enoksen, he approaches the subjects of both galdr and runes from both an academic perspective and a practitioner's perspective. And he makes very good points about the differences in runic systems and their uses, and why those differences are of vital importance for the practitioner. For those of you wanting to seriously understand the runes, I would recommend to start with the book "Runelore" by Stephen Flowers from 1987 (and only that one from that author, since that book is his doctoral disertation, the others incorporate other views that not always mix). Also the old runic poems (islandic, norwegian and anglo-saxon; can be found on the internet). And also, the works of Lars Magnar Enoksen I mentioned before. You have done a great work with this channel. You have given me the last piece of inspiration I needed for my own channel in spanish. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Good health, and good luck to you and yours.

While I've been an eclectic witch for decades now, exploring all sorts of paths, I was doing that to "find the power" if you will. I was looking outside myself, away from the Creator Within. Once I found and connected consciously with the Creator Within, I began to find that all sorts of practices from all around the world would work for me. My explorations with Dagda and Morrighan, Shiva and Shakti, Osiris and Isis, and Hermes and Aphrodite led me to Freyr and Freya. I've received an attunement to something called Run Valdr back in 2011, which is basically a codified system of personal gnosis, but as it's been added to my own personal gnosis, I can work with it sometimes in ways that Rodney Cox, the author, cannot. While it uses the elder futhark as a foundation, it goes from there (similar to some stave spells) with a lot of "circles and lines". I believe the reason it works for me, even though it was channeled this century, is that everything that works is ultimately due to personal gnosis. Whether you connect to the Creator Within through runes, or sigils, or Gods, or grimiores, etc, it is that connection with divinity that makes magick and spirituality work, which by necessity will be unique to each person. So, while old traditions may be stones on the path to magick, they are not necessarily part of the magick itself. No matter how we find the knowledge (gnosis) to do so, it is the divine within that gets it done. Once I stopped looking to the path to provide the magick, and looked to the path more as "how to apply the magick you have within", everything that was not meant for me fell away and everything that is meant for me is rushing to me. Some of that comes from the Norse, some from Celtic, some from Arabic, and Gnostic, and Faerie, and Hindu, and some from modern forms of magick and spirituality like Run Valdr and the Law of One. I'm here to do work with magick in the current day more than history reenactment, so while I am informed by the past, I am not bound by it. This is not in any way meant to insult those who achieve gnosis through a singular tradition, nor those who immerse themselves in the old ways to get there. The path to Wisdom is many-fold for the mind but singular for the heart. As long as I see you there, I don't care how you got there, I'll pass you the mead horn as one of my People. But if some of the things I have learned can help others along their own uniquely divine path, I gladly offer them.

@ColoradoStreaming2 жыл бұрын
No symbol is inherently magical, its just lines or shapes. The intention makes it magical and magic itself is in part tapping into the superconscious of humanity. In that sense, the more people that 'worship' a symbol and give it power the more you can draw that collective power from the symbol. That is why taking sigils from online sources is dangerous because you dont know what groups put what energy into that symbol. It is also why certain pagan groups and mystery schools are very careful about their secret symbols. They dont want random people 'polluting' the symbols with energy they do not want.

Hi ! I think it’s better says Asatru or Norse Faith than Paganism. Pagan, Paganism terms are Latin Roman concepts that’s means farmers out of cities and used by the Christianity in order to undermine our Gods and Goddess and our Norse Faith. Love you Asatru Norse Faith Brothers and Sisters. Glory to our Gods and Goddess. Glory to our Ancestors. Glory to our Heros. Glory to our Norse Faith. Glory to our Kindreds.

Thanks first I thought you were going to be like Tik Tok bullshit but thanks really interesting. Klyvarstenen Klyvarstenen 400 G 88 ad has a bindrune is Tyr as bindrune. And also on a brakreatr (offer coins) there also where nine Naud for taking away sickness. But besides that none information at all. Thanks for great posting. And magic. I would absolutly make a connection bindrune modern Wynja and Naud as great rune or Marriage made to be :)

Paganism is a slanderous Christian word...I'm a Warrior of the All-Father a Norseman or a Heathen not a "pagan"

Heathen too is derogatory, I think we take the "lable" so as to shock those "Christian" callers of names
