If I used this prtotype to power a go kart would it be enough?
@senzahydrogen9 ай бұрын
The power output of this model of fuel cell may not be sufficient. You might need a higher-powered fuel cell. However, we do not recommend conducting experiments on your own. It also requires large hydrogen storage tanks, which necessitate professional personnel to ensure safety and proper operation of the equipment.

Regardless of hydrogen energy or lithium energy, they are all energy storage solutions. They all just store green energy (solar energy, wind energy, etc.) or fossil energy. They are not “new energy sources”

how to transfer hydrogen to a tank without having to cryogenize, compress or use metal hydrides?

Can i know what is the middle part one which converts hydrogen gas to current
@senzahydrogen Жыл бұрын
This is generally done through a process called electrochemical conversion, which takes place in the fuel cell's core component known as the cell stack. The cell stack is made up of several individual fuel cells stacked together. Here's a basic breakdown of the process: 1.Anode (Fuel Electrode): The hydrogen gas enters the fuel cell at the anode. Here, a catalyst (usually made of platinum) causes the hydrogen molecules to split into protons (H+) and electrons (e-). This process is known as oxidation. 2.Electrolyte (Proton Exchange Membrane): The protons pass directly through a special material in the center of the fuel cell known as the proton exchange membrane (PEM). This membrane allows protons to pass through, but it blocks electrons, forcing them to take a longer path through an external circuit, creating an electric current. 3.Cathode (Oxygen Electrode): At the cathode, oxygen gas (from the air) combines with the electrons which have passed through the circuit and the protons which have passed through the PEM. This process, known as reduction, produces water (H2O), which is the only waste product of a hydrogen fuel cell.

At 35 Mpa this is roughly 100 grams of Hydrogen. Heating value has energy density of ~121 megajoules per kg. So your combustion process would result in ~12 megajoules of energy. 1 watt = 1J/second. 600 watts is massively inefficient vs simply using the same volume of gass to drive a combustion engine.
@senzahydrogen Жыл бұрын
@@michaelgolfetto9619 Actually, the output power of 600W can be adjusted according to the structure of the fuel cell. The size, volume and pressure of the hydrogen cylinder can also be changed. I don't quite understand what you meant by "massively inefficient vs simply using the same volume of gass to drive a combustion engine". Moreover, the thermal efficiency of fuel cells can reach 70-85%. As far as I know, the thermal efficiency of internal combustion engines is only 20-40%.
