Tara, Keep up the hard work. It’s okay to struggle. Take it one day at a time. Little by little you’ll get there. Then you can pass your experience and wisdom on to others! Thank you! ❤️

You look as if you have very good strength in your upper body. Is that because of slow recovery or intense rehab? If you're complete with regards your spinal injury then that is amazing strength and movement in your upper body. Good luck.

It's been almost 32 years since my injury. A lot of what I can do is from trial and error. I've learned what works best for me. I have a complete injury, so building strength in the muscle I have use of (shoulders, biceps, wrist extention) and balance are my best assets.

Hi, what level of injury do you have? I have complete C7. I would like to have trunk control. Can you advise me?

I have a C6-7 Asia A (complete) injury. I have no trunk function - just good balance. Maybe because I was a gymnast?

The 'Question' was 'how does a Quadriplegic Sleep' and Not "how does a Quadriplegic prepare to go to sleep". So Jenny I hope you Sleep with your Eyes Shut and after all your exhausting preparations that you Sleep Sound with Pleasant Dreams ... You, like so many others with your misfortune/s, are incredible! ... Your determination NOT to give in combined with unbelievable self motivation is nothing short of inspiring!

Al Taylor LOL. Yep. Maybe I should have clarified a bit more. I was thinking of the kids who ask if I sleep in my wheelchair.

@@JennySmithRollsOn Hi Jenny, Glad I did not offend you as that was certainly not have been my intention. Kids ask the strangest questions from innocence. One of my dear U.K. Ex-Service Mates from the mid 1950's recently emailed me from the U.K. and told me after a lot of buck passing by the N.H.S. he had been diagnosed with Colon Cancer and would have to have a large section of Bowel removed and replaced with his own personal Colostomy Bag... So at this stage one has to appreciate the Service unique Camaraderie/Piss Taking style that in such situations Kicks In on the strict basis of "Give No Sympathy" ... So I instantly replied saying as I had not experience his situation that I could not 'Give Empathy' which would be hypercritical - and I most certainly NO WAY Give him Sympathy However I would be giving him as much Support/Motivation/Love as I could muster.... So when I heard about his op I replied and told him to tell the Surgeon to hold on as I had a by chance an old Cycle Inner tube that was porous and would be an ideal replacement and could be sterilised in Beer so it would be well prepared for it's new environment ... apparently his Surgeon was typically English being very straight laced and rejecting my generous offer. Now my Mate is suffering badly from post op Chemo, but he is a Leo like me, and will NOT give up despite being very low in energy BUT we do not go light on him the Big Girls Blouse(sissy. Limey talk). I have always challenged Dr's, Chiropractors, Medical Specialists etc and given many a big serve if they refuse to discuss, so much so that in 1979/80 I could hardly move/sleep and certainly not work(I have a high Pain Tolerance), N.H.S. Drs diagnosed me with having to be in a wheel chair for five years - "WHY" because that is the waiting list "For What" Hip replacement, also you have two prolapsed Discs in your lower back which will have to be removed and three Vertebrae fused .... I slowly stood up and shuffled out eventually stood outside the Hospital I turned round and came to attention as best I could and gave the Dr's the well documented 'two fingered salute given to the French who used to cut the index finger off any captured English Long Bow Archers, but to show the French these English Long Bow Archers had their Index and Middle fingers intact". Shortly afterwards I was recommended to a Chiropractor(Rare as Chickens Teeth in the U.K. then), he took his own Postcard sized Xrays that were from the right angle and clear, 45 mins later he had me touching my toes and totally pain free. I am now 83 living in Australia since 1982 and still have not had a Hip replacement( how many replacements would I have had to have since then), I still have the same two discs and NO vertebrae fused thanks to always being able to suss out Competent Chiros if I require adjustment as have always had a physical life... but I still challenge ... and probably will after I take my last breath. Jenny Dear I am NOT trying to compete with your situation but purely as my situation is not in your league and I have enormous respect for you and others in your situation and am in awe of of even through the black days you all CHALLENGE, Inspire and MOTIVATE, I love watching and shouting my Support fort the Para Olympians and Invictus Games . Keep on Keeping on

Actually, my shoes never touch the ground since I can't walk. The shoes are squeaky clean! Since I'm unable to put my shoes on while I'm in my chair, I have to put them on and off in bed.
