Rear Mount Turbos are not complicated! There is just more space between the engine and the turbo. Check out how it all works and the pros and cons to running a set up like this.

Dual rears are very cool and from a visual point are very satisfying! Make sure if you do make that setup to create a standalone oil system for the turbos because you won't be able to get enough pressure from the engine

Same here, I think I finally decided to go twin rear turbos for my 01 cobra. I've been weighing all the different options between Eaton swaps, prochargers, and turbos, and it seems that rear mount custom turbos are actually the cheapest option!

I'm glad you said that since I was thinking of doing that on my 97 thunderbird 4.6 2v. Would you use 2 smaller turbos to reduce the lag?

The EASY way to say it....is: The exhaust Flow turns the Turbine Wheel which ALSO turns the Compressor Wheel and the compressor TAKES IN Air, Compresses the Air and sends it back to the Throttlebody to ingest through the Engine Again.

You also forgot engine weight balance bias is not so front heavy to affect suspension and is spread out. No need for turbo timer either.

Only conceivable way to boost a Chevy Express cargo van. Charge pipe is so long strait through intercooler is all you need to cool the intake charge. 2013 6L80E, 5.3 , 799 heads, BTR truck Norris and a on3perfromance 77mm is the build I am working on. My HVAC side work van.

Not sure how to take that. A lot of people say their best ideas come on the toilet or in the shower... Fortunately if you don't want a RMT you don't have to have one

@@bradybuildz5632 no i didn't mean to bash on the idea. i was just saying that's how it sounded like to me. i'm basically saying it's an outside the box kinda deal, although i do get lots of crazy ideas while in the bathroom too, lol. oh and by crazy ideas i don't mean the criminal kind, lol. it's mostly about how the tp roll should be positioned, or how a panic room should be built around the bathroom, or that garages should have direct access to a bathroom, or why most bathroom sink surfaces are not angled to drain efficiently. :D :D :D

I use engine yrv turbo on my kelisa. I want make project to mount the turbo at rear bcoz they engine bay so small. Can some one give the size or ratio for hot and cold piping for rear mount turbo. Plz..

Just start off with your stock exhaust, most guys even in high hp build found the stock stuff works better for them. Goal is to keep heat and as much velocity you can in the pipe without the pipe becoming a restriction, any mufflers you can get rid of straight pipe it and add the turbo in the best place you think itll work. Cold side you can usually get away with same size diameter as your exhaust or a tad larger.

Wastegate is the same as always, the wastegate stays near the turbo which is in the back. The BOV is up next to the intercooler so the vacuum line will run from the intake manifold down to the cold side before the intercooler

Put the wastegate closer to where your exhaust merges at the y pipe, x pipe ect, works better there then all the way back by the turbo. Run smaller diameter piping to the turbo and heat wrap it to keep as much heat in as possible. People from the LSX community have found that stock iron manifolds and smaller diameter piping work better then longtubes and shorties with large piping, also the type of material like iron will keep heat in the pipe better then steel. Vaccum is the usual, just have to run longer lines. 🤙🤙 keep up the good work

in this case the hot box would have to increase or decrease since the turbo is not mounted on the manifold straight to the head

The hotside of the turbo? It all depends on other factors. Piping size and displacement play a roll in trying to find the right turbo size. Sorry for the delayed response, been a busy couple days

For a 370z where would u put the turbo? Sorry I'm getting my first car soon and I want to plan everything out

front mount turbo is best on a 370z, those vq37 motors are solid motors and can handle up to like 900hp on a stock block. but i would recommend a plenum spacer, tune, and exhaust before a turbo kit.

I agree with Tanner! Sorry for the late response, the front kits for the 370 are great. However if this is your first car is highly recommend just learning the car and getting everything you can out of it stock before upgrading it as far as throwing a turbo on there.

Gotta be careful with the intake side of the turbo, depending on the routing of the intake piping rain can cause issues because it'll get sucked up. They make hydro shields for filters but personally I only trust those to a certain point. With extreme weather I wouldn't recommend doing a rear mount set up if you plan to drive the car during that weather

Nope, just a turbo. I personally run an exit pipe just so the exhaust goes somewhere other than under my car but no formal exhaust

Depends on the purpose of the car but the engine bay in the Supra is so well suited for turbo there really would be no reason to throw the turbo in the rear unless you just want to do something different
