I worked in background and background casting.. the agency is in NYC and we did Law n Order, CSI, Disney, pilots, morning shows etc etc AND the networking is great and leads to more projects. The most important thing I learned is that if you call and show up every day, you WILL get hired BUT if u miss (or come late) to any set, you'll be fired (while it sounds extreme, no agency wants to vouch for actors who aren't reliable and hence make them look bad when much of the business runs on reputation and competition. Its now a decade later (needed time for health) and IDK WTF! It went from "your headshot is your resume" to producing reels, esablishing social media, etc and im terrible at tech and wish i knew who to look for and where to begin again.

Great video! I've never really understood why actors are told over and over not to list background work on their resume. as if it doesn't really count because you aren't really acting. You are on a professional set and taking direction. My very first extra job was for one of the primetime shows filmed in Chicago and I got a featured extra role. I was given direction by the episode Director. Choice, can you explain why background work seems to be looked down upon?
@chocolatcats5 жыл бұрын
THEIR NOT..its called some people are egotistical idiots
@Darkanent5 жыл бұрын
There are people who are professional background actors. The issue is that most people want to be the one saying all the lines therefore it equates to a thing of attention.
@mikekillagreen94325 жыл бұрын
There is nothing wrong with background but an agent wants to see if you can handle lines, direction and do well in auditions. Extra work does not help that and no director is going to hire someone off of an extral role outside of giving them one line but to make a career of acting it takes auditions and sometimes trainingt show you can act. Anyone can be an extra and I mean anyone.

@@mikekillagreen9432 Agents and managers typically want actors who are SAG nowadays. So how does an actor with no experience obtain their SAG vouchers? @@Darkanent Training. Agents and managers will always take a talented trained actor with the right look. Lupita and the Camilla from Riverdale got huge roles right out of school. My loving parents Mr Keith Trauner and Mrs Sara Trauner in Coconut Grove South Miami Florida live next door to Mr Alex Rodriguez and Mrs Jennifer Lopez. My mother is reachable at +1-305-778-9350. quinnews.com/wondrous-a-future-associated-press-published-story I authored a article on the film Wonder Woman 1984 which I finished watching in full in my hometown of the last five straight years Jerusalem Israel last week on Thursday. I passed on my article to both Mrs Gal Gadot and Mrs Patty Jenkins. Mrs Gal Gadots main makeup artist Mrs Sarah Brock has two adult sons in their twenties who have my Autism and they live and lead empathetic, loving, compassionate, kindhearted, giving, joyous, brave, and courageous lives. kzbin.info/www/bejne/m5OmepaBpM2smpo (Wonder Woman Mrs Gal Gadot interviewed Israel's first openly autistic film journalist Mr Ori Yitzhaki for Israel's Hazinor TV Station). WE ARE WONDROUS SUPERHEROES // How does the superhero fly when the superhero is needed most? // How does the superhero fly when the world needs heroes most? // My heart believes in the truth that every loving person has a soul. // My heart champions the message, everyone can be a light of hope. // Hope is what drives our human race to overcome limits and be heroic. // Hope is what pushes our human race to love and inspire who we love. // If you love who you are and what you do, you will make the world loving. // We are all superheroes when the world needs love and peacefulness most. // We are all superheroes when we look in the mirror and wake up every morning. // We are wondrous when we share love. When we love the world, we are heroic. Be persistent and never give up - Mrs. Gal Gadot.
