No, being a computer program, they evolve far faster than biological creatures, the moment that antibiotic hit's your computers datastream, the virus is probably already immune to it. Be careful, to much use of antibiotics on a virus can create a Super-virus, which is impervious to just about anything.

I once got infected with ad malware. All my web browsers had weird home screens with tons of ads. I now personally use Avast and Malwarebytes.

I got a ransomware ( Not that recent one, another one ), And ironically it wanted me to buy an antivirus from them and used to completely shut down all of my programs even my original antivirus as if they were malware, Didn't have an exit button amd never could be closed by any mean and couldn't be uninstalled in the control panel and operated i in safe mode, and having it blocking the antivirus paralyzed any efforts! But, I Uninstalled it manually ... Yup, The PC was a Windows 7 one, so I clicked-and-hold on the prompt page's icon on the "Taskbar" then drag up, a small list will appear with the program's location on pc as a title (as I remember that's how it looked like back then) then wrote down the location (wich was a line of random characters) on an external paper then went to my computer and manually wrote the whole location -> enter -> then DAda found the folder ...... Obviously started deleting all it's files - except for one that couldn't be - (presumably the main file) but a few kept returning back and the ransomware was still there! So.. in another try I right clicked on that main file then chose the "properties tab" and found a list of "Green-checked" system privileges it had access to and Unchecked every single one of them -> pressed "O.K.", then I waited nothing happened, Until ... ... I restarted the computer and e everything was Finally GR8 Again! ; ) The ransomware spent his days "idle & paralyzed", has never been deleted from the computer until it was formatted months later due to fatal error, :'( RIP Ransomware

it is nice to have a video i can point people to now, i work in a computer shop and i fix computers on a day to day basis and so many people come in with there computer slow as a rock and say it is because of a virus and i say no it is because you installed shit tons of malware on it then they ask what's the difference and when i finish explaining it they nod along as if they understand but they clearly don't so from now on i am just going to have this video bookmarked and play it whenever someone asks about the difference so i can the head around back and deal with the 20 other computers that i have to fix that day

Whenever i copy lots of files/folders into a flash drive, and reconnect it, all of them appear in gibberish names and display that they occupy way more space than the flash drive actually is. It does not affect my computer internally, used AVG and it didn't detect anything. I'm screwed.

People are going to say that is ageism, but it's the honest, brutal truth. Old people are the most vulnerable to be scammed in the age of information. They didn't grow up with current tech, so they're not as aware of all the problems and vulnerabilities of the tools they use. Even before the explosion in smart phones and the wide spread use of tablets and laptops, old school phone scams were a thing.

i mean... just use linux. I use linux and i never had a malware on my computer. But windows is the most used OS. So there will be more viruses for windows than linux. Sometimes the best way is to learn how malware is programmed to better understand which techniques and exploits are mostly used. With this knowledge you can prevent malware infection more effective.

when you crypt your malware it gets reported fast and some (virus / malware) software dont keep definitions on the pc as much they usually request it from a server and also when someone reports a malicious file it takes a while to update definitions thats why whenever i rat somone i take uac disable reg and task manager then i delete wireless device i then monitor the webcam and enable (false shutdown and silent mode) this allows me to control there pc directly while there not looking its also good enough to update your virus every 3 days for effectivity the protection software that most regulars use is very susceptible to this method of bypassing
