This should be a weekly thing where you create some band jams using the gear reviewed during that week. Pedals, amps, guitars.... throw it all in there and have fun

This is the way forward Lee, genuine gear that anyone can buy in your shop, not like in the past with a £2000.00 guitar being played through a 50 what beginners amp with amazing sound which is realy un achievable for most novice guitarist with small budgets to spend on gear and would never get the same sound with a chap guitar,, thanks to all the team for making these videos for us all,,cheers.

I was on Bourbon St a few weeks ago and a band was playing at one of the places and the guitarists was rocking a Katana 50. It sounded fantastic. After a set we talked shop a little and he said that he loved the amp. It wasn’t expensive, took his pedals great and sounded awesome. I couldn’t have agreed more.

Like the previous models, clean sounds are decent & I've no doubt it will take pedals well if you want to use it as a platform. The drive sounds, while ok at bedroom settings, just completely fizz out at gigging volume.
@jeffbateman23394 ай бұрын
They actually take pedals really well…. I can’t stand the fizzy distorted sounds so I gig with the amp set clean and a variety of drive pedals

The 2x12 Katana is more than enough amp for a gig. I can’t wait to see how the upgrades effect that amp as well.

This amp is like what the Line 6 Spyder amps used to be 15-20 years ago. Available, cheap, did a job, but really didn't sound good once you got good enough to need a better amp.

Nice demo, but as a current Gen Katana owner I have some questions. Firstly, though, props to you for using both the Kat 50 and the 100 in the demos. I see from the panel setups that both are used, so that's awesome, but maybe you could have called that out in the description. Secondly, none of these settings are actually using the "panel" config - they're all using one of the programmed channels - given that, I assume they DO use the settings you're showing on the panel? Finally, also, I'm assuming that you used the set of effects that are assigned to the three options for each effect type by the factory, and that you haven't made use of any of the other effects using the Tone Studio software - also just wondering if you used the internal parameteric EQ or Noise Gate?

The distortion sounds are so fizzy and farty that the amp sounds broken. Like somebody jabbed the speaker with a pencil. I'm thinking a head version paired with a decent cabinet would probably be a huge improvement.

We tracked both guitars using an MKII 100 on this track. This is on the standard brown channel w just a few small tweaks. Thats direct out and not even mic'd. At least in this metalcore / thrash genre you can get a good tone. Or at least we think so :) kzbin.info/www/bejne/iaXFgZmLl7yMgpI

Amazing how far SS amps have come, when I was a kid, most of them sounded sterile and uninspiring, now can have hang with the tube amps... That's not a good thing for us tube amp lovers lol. And, back in the day, the only SS amp I played that sounded great was Roland, and peavey had some good ones too.
