Thanks for the video. I worked as a hospital chaplain for some years, and for about nine months I covered oncology and an oncology ICU.the patients in the ICU got so sick they had to be intubated. Ironically I never asked the question until today, namely, "what kill someone with cancer." It seems like I wasn't too far off. I always noticed that the patients I was working with were dying from infections and other complications not really from cancer... Sorta. Just by talking to patients and doctors and reading chart notes I started to relize that cancer itself doesn't really "kill you." It's what it does to you that kills you (if that makes since). so for my whole time and oncology I was so close to the weeds of the problem that I never really understood the basics of what actually killed you. It's funny that was almost 5 years ago and I just looked it up on KZbin and found your video today. It looks like my understanding wasn't too far off. I guess I never asked the question because I was so focused on the spiritual and emotional effects of cancers at the time. The spiritual, emotional, psychological affects on the patient's and their families were so complicated and got complicated quick; especially the younger the patient. Much of my conversations where about fears of death and the process of dying and the grief with that. Even if the patient was expected to survive. Never underestimate the power of a board certified chaplain in oncology and palliative care.

I survived colon cancer stage 3 and I was very lucky as I listened to my doctors. Living and learning to live with an ileostomy. During my cancer time I felt dead tired and depressive. It was scary as I lacked any energy. Waking up in the morning felt like if I hadn't slept for 2 years. After loosing a lot of blood with every emotional moment I looked like a dying Vampire. My tumor named Greg was almost blocking my exit. I couldn't sit properly and it caused immense stabbing pain. I think you get finally so tired and fall asleep forever. I was so scared I wouldn't see the people around me growing anymore. This was my biggest fear! The loss of precious time! So happy to be here with you's today! Greetings from Germany! ❤

Cancer tends to run in my family on my mother's side. My grandmother died from lung cancer almost 20 years ago. It was so painful to watch how it just spread everywhere until there was simply nothing to do but manage her pain at home. Watching her waste away and feeling completely helpless was the hardest part for me. It also made dying of cancer one of my biggest fears.

My mom was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer on April 21, 2022. She passed on May 20, 2022. It has absolutely broken me. She was complaining of tiredness and dizziness so I took her to the hospital. After a few hours, we got a possible ovarian cancer diagnosis. Then she got pneumonia a week later and they found cancer in her lungs. Then her liver. She deteriorated so quickly. Her death was so fucking brutal. She deserved better. I hope there will be a cure some day. The thought of others losing loved ones to this horrible disease just breaks my soul. RIP Momma 🤍

My father was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. In 2016 he was given 6 months to live. Allow me to say he is still with us. This thing is horrible it’s a monster papa isn’t anything of the man he was prior to quemó. He shrunk literally from being a 6’1 he is now 4’7!!! How? His kidney’s are failing last week we signed a DNR I truly believe it eats you! It attacks all organs forcing a shut down of the system. I myself am a Ovarian Cancer survivor. Cancer changed my life forever! Had a full hysterectomy which caused me to enter menopause at age 30! I’m on a never ending roller coaster. From mood swings to suicidal thoughts. It’s just a nightmare!

As what has shown with my late mum. The cancer was not showing on her CT Scans or Colonoscopies, however, there was a microscopic cell that had escaped and then grew in her lungs, peritoeum, liver etc. So just because nothing is showing, doesn't mean that all is ok. Mum had a cancerous polyp removed in 2011, all clear and then in 2015, stage 4 and dies in 2018.

My father found out 3 months ago he has cancer all over. After multiple tests done at Mayo they told him he has metastatic neuroendocrine gastric carcinoma his cancer is in 5 places including his bone. He has done 3 cycles of chemo and has 2-3 more cycles to go. The cancer has slowed a little since chemo but some tumors have gotten bigger. Once he takes a break from chemo the cancer can start to speed up again. The Dr gave him 6-12 months to live and October will be his 6 cycle of chemo and also 6 months since he was told he has 6-12 months to live. I really wish there was more research done on this type of cancer and what to expect at the end stages.

My dad just passed on September 9, 2022 from cancer in his lungs, spleen and liver. He got the unofficial diagnosis on August 30th 2022, and the official diagnosis on September 7th 2022.....he was in the hospital in November of 2021 and they did all sorts of tests then and there was absolutely no sign of cancer anywhere in his body....he was told after official diagnosis that he had max of 6 months to live.....unfortunately it was 1 week and 2 days later that he passed

Two weeks ago my grandma was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. She was getting terribly itchy all over her body but didn’t tell her doctor because she assumed it was her eczema. After being convinced by my mom to talk to her doctor about it they did some scans and sure enough there’s a tumor on her pancreas, blocking her bile duct. After a week in the hospital they allowed her to go home but she can barely eat, is fatigued, and dry heaves anytime she is moved up or down. The other night, after she got into bed, I went to say goodbye and tell her I’d see her tomorrow; she grabbed my hand and said “sure, I think I’ll still be here tomorrow”. Unfortunately there’s no options available other than palliative care. Luckily, just before she got sick, she put up all seven of her Christmas trees, as she does every year. So now she is at home surrounded by all of her beautiful Christmas trees and we all go there to spend time with her and she is enjoying life as much as she can. I was just about to leave the other night but as I was turning the tv off for her we saw a Dolly Parton documentary on Netflix and we got so excited and watched the whole thing and she didn’t fall asleep for a second of it.

My Dad passed away from cancer of the peritoneam. He suffered from intestinal problems & went for all types of procedures and the doctors couldn't pick up anything. It was only detected when he went for a hernia op which turned septic. Imo my Dad passed away because he had given up. This was about 3 months after the op.

From what I've read and heard coupled with my own vague understanding, is that during the metastasis portion of cancer, it moves to various organs and draws from them nourishment to feed it's own rapid growth. This growth can cause blockages of blood, as well as ductwork that causes the organs to fail. I would also think that the sapping of vital noutrients from these tissues not designed to support the voracious appetite of the cancer cells, exasperates further damage to infected organs. If that were true, though; wouldn't uterine cancer not be a thing? The uterus is designed to support a mass of cells pulling nutrients from the body...but in pondering this, I can't help but feel that my own naivety regarding this subject is showing, so perhaps I should just sit, listen, and learn

What are some of the major links, if any, that exist between the speed and voracity of a tumor and the tissue that it had originated from? How is it that some tumors "eat" nearby tissues like bone? How do tumors draw their nourishment from near by tissues and is there a way to block their pathway to getting nourishment? How is it that some tumors respond to treatment on one patient, yet fail to respond in other patients with the same type of cancer? How is leukemia able to be, more or less, amorphous?

@@mikelesbob from what I understood a benign is a type of cancer that does not spread or metastasize. They draw their nourishment by creating blood vessels to acquire nutrients, and to remove waste, idk if there's a medical procedure to prevent that. Cancer is a mutation, there's a chance that someone's tumor can have different mutation than the other. There are even cases when a single patient can have 6 different mutations, all of which requiring different methods to kill. Leukemia is a mutation of the blood forming within the bone marrow. It is not a solid tumor. I might be wrong on some answers. Lol. My knowledge is still limited.

I don’t know the size as my husband does not want me going to his appointments with him yes, very unusual. It can release bad stuff or bad substances into your body. This can get into other organs and interfere with, and cause inflammation in other organs and your own body's response to this is adverse. Also, your brain doesn't know exactly what happening so it reverts to default shutdown in the event of a problem. There's also the result of an organ shutting down such as your liver. This means filtration and digestion stops. When you're in a really bad state, there can also be a cascade affect of organ failures brought on by your body's reaction to the chaos. In a way, your body knows how to die.

i really don't normally comment mid videos cuz why would I be watching this if I already knew the answer, right? But I wanted to answer this for some reason. How do I think cancer kills people? Well, it's a very broad question as it's like asking why did I take my car to the mechanic? No one answer is right 100% of the time. However, for the most part, I have been under the impression that cancer is a mix-up in the DNA of a cell or, to put in laymen's terms, the instructions that the cell has on how to replicate itself becomes corrupted so the next cell that is built is severely messed up somehow. This corruption, if left unchecked, moves to other parts of the body and/or grows to the point that vital functions of the body are inhibited or halted completely. This would be most drastic surrounding our respiratory and cardiovascular systems. If I had to rate them, next would be nervous, skeletal (rather more related to cardiovascular I think), and lymphatic. Probably wrong, but that's why we all know: I'm not a doctor, lol.

Thyroid cancer is a little strange. There are different types. Two are not so bad. Papillary and follicular. But medullary and anaplastic are aggressive. Fatal in cases of late diagnosis or non-treatment. Then there's the consideration of differentiated or poorly differentiated. Metastatis. And the size of the mass. If a papillary thyroid cancerous mass is large, it can occlude the trachea. Not just deviate. Stage 2 can occur if the mass is a certain size if the patient is age 45, even without metastasis. Cancer staging is different depending on the type. As is the recommended treatment, life expectancy with or without treatment.

Without any medical education, or much of one, my guess is cancer cells occur at random due to the radiation that's ever present because we can't leave nuclear weapons well enough alone. This radiation causes a slightly higher probability of causing a cancerous mutation to occur, similarly to how a bubble will form underneath the paint on a wall when it's been raining for far too long. The formation of this bubble means no matter what there's no cheap or easy way of dealing with it and if you keep putting it off you will regret it. But how it kills? I don't think it's actually the cancer itself that kills you. I think it bioforms you. Kinda like teraorming but for biology. It changes the body to suit its own needs. It's how the organs function after its taken effect that kills you. If my theory is correct, this is the ugly, trial and error side of evolution. This is life trying to make a big jump and falling flat on its face. Let me ask you this, when someone has cancer, is it the affected organ that suffers 100% of the time, or is it the rest of the body reacting to it? What if the entire body was shut down and everything became full of cancer with no trace of the original biology to fight it? You just replace everything with cancer. Now that it's been allowed to grow and exist with no resistance while numerous teams of the correctly needed staff monitored the patient and give them whatever they need to allow the body to achieve full functionality, I believe the answer lies in conversion, not destruction. Perhaps a fully integrated cancer based biology would offer unique benefits to the patient? This is just the 2 cents of an uneducated do-nothing waste of space.
