My Chinese friend, who worked as a school principal in the outskirts of Beijing, told me that if she wants to improve her social score, she could watch specific videos. I assumed they would be videos about how to be a responsible citizen, how to conduct yourself in a way that helps society. But she told me, no they were basically propaganda videos, about the great leadership in China.

I left China to attend school in the U.S. in 2013. I've since visited China quite a few times as some of my family is still there, but I've never heard of the social credit system until the memes started in the U.S. It appears the document shown at 4:11 is the scoring system. Well, I can still read Chinese - it does say if you violate the one child policy, -40 points on page 23. The one child policy is partially abolished in 2016 and completely revoked in 2021. This shows the document is at least 7 years old. Another example of -100 points on page 22 says "hindering relocation or the construction of electrical, water, comms, railway and other public facility." If you translate the whole thing, it's all "don't break the law". That bunch of phone numbers shown at 7:59 is the list of "low credit personnel (company representative or other organization". These are usually company executives who loaned too much money and never paid it back. The court would prevent them from taking high speed trains, planes, and other non-bus/slow train transport. I'm not aware of other punishments, but it's known that if you get on the list your life is fked until you pay the debt. I guess I'm level D with me being in a capitalist pigs' country. But I'm never arrested in China, Chinese border control is much more friendly compared to some countries of the free world, and honestly, I don't even know what my social score is - neither does my family. So basically, if you are just a normal citizen who doesn't go around breaking the law and saying "communist party bad" out loud in the streets or on the internet, YOU ARE FINE. Additionally, I'd like a source on the organ trading score. Where did you find the document and maybe cite it in the description? I'm not defending China but I'd really like some proof other than videos of security cameras running neural networks detecting people.

It only takes 1 bad person to rise through system to have access to nukes in Asia. The end goal I believe is underground bunkering for expansion of rights but the surface must be regulated. Yes radar ground penetration can see your bunker 2000ft below but there's ways of making radar unable to detect a bunker .

I doubt Pooh has to live by these standards, and saying/doing the "right" thing keeps the people under the boot. Freedom and privacy to do what an individual wants without federal repercussions is the ideal future. Not a social credit or "good boy points" system. Doesn't matter what system is in place when humans will learn to game the system. It only tramples opposing views and speech. "You cannot negotiate if you cannot tell the opposition to go to hell." - Jordan Peterson The reason U.S. capitalism works is because it generally rewards hard work and playing the system for money, it doesn't extend into personal affairs unless it directly affects the workplace. The freedom to say or do whatever you want on your time is actively protected by the constitution. Remember, if you like a system always prepare yourself for the other end of it. Since if implemented one day the shoe can/will be on the other foot. Social credit can destory someone's life through arbitrary means. People reap what they sow.

@@Joangelis I have been seeing this meme, how to say it - it's very interesting. As a Chinese, this is certainly not true (laughs). I know many people are willing to believe in the existence of social credit scores, because it can prove that "Chinese people have no freedom" (laughing). To be honest, I didn't watch this video because such videos are basically rubbish. What I care about is people's opinions about it. Unfortunately, there are many more people who believe in this than I thought, so I have to explain carefully what is going on. In simple terms, social credit scores do not exist, but are made up of different things from different fields. Alipay will evaluate consumers' spending and repayment ability, which will ultimately be presented to users in the form of a Sesame Credit score, affecting their use of Alipay-related functions (such as renting items without a deposit through Alipay and borrowing money through Alipay). The bank will announce those who have long-term debts to the bank and will restrict their use of bank cards, and have the right to limit their luxury consumption. (In fact, many people have ways to bypass this, such as giving money to friends and asking them to help themselves.) There are cameras on the road to monitor vehicles. When the driver performs some dangerous operations (such as running red lights, speeding, etc.), the camera will take pictures of the license plate and deduct points from the driver's license. So, you know, this is how some common things are spliced together in a way with ulterior motives to become the so-called social credit score that fits the stereotype.
