I have to say, one of the most beautiful guitars Gibson ever made. The transparent finish gives it such a stunning appearance.

I was fortunate enough to sit in the dressing room with B.B. at our first meeting in 1985. I also got to run my finger across Lucille's strings, yet another thrill! This was Lucille the 15th, the one he used at the first Farm Aid a few weeks before. She had the brass nut at the time, maybe the only one that did. Curious as to whether the one you played two years later was the same guitar.

Beautiful. The tailpiece is intriguing. I want one.

The guitar ships with 10s, which is interesting when you see B.B. King play, which to me, looks like a set of 8s to get easy full tone steps.

I saw B.B. King and Halifax Nova Scotia back in 2000 and something. I had a guitar that I made painted on by a professional artist who put my guitar heroes on this guitar. One of the guitar hero she painted on was B.B. King also included or Jeff Beck Stevie Ray Vaughan Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy Joe Satriani And perhaps a few more I can’t remember. So I came to the concert to get B.B. King signature over his painting. At the end of the concert, he rushed out the back into a bus and I thought there’s no way I’ll now find him, and I was correct. The sad part was that the next day a person who worked for me had a wife that was responsible for the local hotel and she said she could’ve gotten me in no problem. Very disappointing and I’ll never forget this opportunity I missed. Anyway, my dream was always on a Lucille Guitar. I have 16 other guitars, but I do not have Lucille. Perhaps my plan should be to sell all the other guitars and buy the BB King Lucille.

I have red color gibson Lucille and it is really excellent guitar for blues, smooth jazz, contemporary jazz. the varitone provides tonal adventage but the volume drops and I do not know how to avoid it any suggestions please, I would appreciate

hello, what is the best thickness of strings to put on such a guitar? room?

One thing people forget nowadays, is that all the greats played unremarkable “off the shelf” guitars. The Beatles, Hendrix, the Who… the guitars were just the tools they used. When one broke, they just got another off the shelf. Not sure when everyone started to get obsessed with “unique, modded artist guitars” probably after Van Halen’s homemade guitar. But how many of the guitar greats did you ever hear of who played their hero’s signature model guitar? Can you imagine SRV at his peak, playing an upside down left handed Jimi Hendrix Strat? 😂 I think people need to bear that in mind when they’re out there spending all their change on their Slash Les Pauls, SRV Strats, Van Halen Frankenstrats, etc., haha.

I wonder in which position BB played his guitar (I meam the varitone position). Anyone?
@MooreMusicGuitars Жыл бұрын
During a gig, he may go through several positions, but his baseline setting was position 2.

@@SmelOdies good choice. In my opinion, epiphone's quality on the new stuff is very hit or miss. I e returned the 3 I've bought in the past year, they looked like a kid made them. I've bought 7 Gibsons(4new) in that time and they're all perfect. I got the Jim James ES gibson, and it's got one of the best sounds I've ever heard. Only my LP Supreme is preferable to me, playing into a Marshall JCM

How does the Epiphone version stack up to that? Because I can afford the Epiphone (probably)(eventually).
