I do enjoy your work. I'm currently working on a system consisting of NiMH batteries from a Toyota hybrid, configured for 12v, PWM change controler, 400w of solar panels (one 100w & two 150w) and a 1500w inverter. This is for off grid use, for a refrigerator, lights, TV and a water pump. I get about 12 hours of sun where I live.

Hi! What cars use NiMH chemistry in their batterys? Only thought they were for smaller applications.

I'm curious about your sun hours. Where do you live that gets 12 hours of sun? Where I'm at, the sun is out for 10 plus hours, but I only get 4 hours of prime charging. The rest of the daylight hours are partial at best. For me, I have near shading to the south of my property. Trees. Between 9 am, and 11 am, I pull in 500 watts from my 700-watt Solar array. After 11, I typically drop back to 250/300. And then from 3 pm, to 5 pm, I get around 350 to 450.

Great video, so far you could be the only person who can help me work something out. I have a 3kw off grid inverter 24v, is running fine until I try to use the generator, the inverter sees the generator but doesnt use it, so far the only way I can make it work is by running a load of at least 500w, turning off the inverter, then turning on the generator, wait a bit until the inverter sees the voltage from the generator then turning the inverter on, you then hear the generator reving up and the inverter enters bypass mode and starts charging the battery... Any help would be appreciated.

For starters I absolutely love your videos helps me understand all of this. We actually have an off grid system that after learning as much as I can about it I believe it was way under powered and is not keeping up with our consumption. And I also have an RV that I’m planning on putting solar on for Boondock camping. So again thank you very much and I look forward to watching everything else you can teach me.

Well I watched a lot of your videos and I recently paid for your assistance for the system we’re trying to put together and you were supposed to send me a questionnaire on an email. I have yet to receive it and haven’t had any further contact from you so I need to know what’s going on or go ahead and send me a refund if you can’t get it figured out thank you.

Nick can you please send me to the new email address that I sent you, the questionnaire or whatever I need to do to proceed with my system I’m sitting here with all my components waiting to assemble and make sure I have everything right and haven’t heard back for what I paid for. I received the free downloads without a problem I purchased your book from Amazon without a problem and I was paying for your help so let’s get this taken care of please. I do understand how busy you are because a lot of people look at this and decide to get off grid because my electric bills basically quadrupled since Joe Biden has been in office.

My pick for a great topic is a small up-gradable, affordable, 24v system starting with 1 24v battery and 2 panels, charge controller, inverter, fuses, battery shut-off etc... and with an end result of powering a common, normal, single story 1200 s/f house by adding more panels and batteries without having to buy to much replacement equipment. Can you help me get started on the right path to that goal?😁

How about the differences - pros v cons - of an inverter/charger (2) against the all-in-one of (3) (beyond the built-in MPPT charge controller).
@cleversolarpower6 ай бұрын
System 2 offers more flexibility and customization. System 3 offers easy connections but is not customizable. With system 1, you can have multiple MPPTs for reliability, while if one component in the EG4 breaks, you are out of power. So, system 2 is more redundant.

If you have microinverters, you should be grid-tied. Otherwise, a microinverter is not useful (in my opinion). I don't like to use them because they have quite some limitations. Check my video about different inverters to learn more.

I just bought a RV pull trailer and it has a 200 watt solar panel feeding to a PMW then I believe it goes to the lead acid battery then to a cut off switch. The RV has already a lithium ready inverter built into the breaker A/C D/C Box. I want to upgrade to 400 watts and put in a LiTime lithium 12 volt 230 Amp battery. I want to keep my 30 amp plug shore power to also charge my battery. Can you supply me a drawing for that ? I’ll pay also.

I have that exact generator, it’s great! Only thing is you might need to add a hard start kit to your HVAC to make it run off that generator. Which brings up a question - what size inverter and solar system is needed to start and power a 4 ton AC system?
@cleversolarpower6 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment. Do you use the generator to run into a hybrid inverter, or do you power the loads directly with it? I'm asking because this generator can have high harmonic distortion, which is most likely not accepted as a generator input.
