Hey doc! I'm turning 17 next month and will get a palatal expander next week for my upper jaw..so i just wanted to know will it really expand my jaw? Because many are saying that it won't work after you get older.. Thanks!

Great question! It really depends on the patient. For some, we are able to achieve orthopedic expansion with conventional expanders. For others, it requires something different - like a micro-implant supported expander or surgical expansion.
