Would be cool if you can show the difference in turning radius between RAS and no RAS. But thanks for the video, it’s the only one that showed the RAS on the Taycan.

Greetings from Germany! I like your videos, especially the ones where you explain features of the Taycan. This time you have outdone yourself, even including historical sketches and movies about the history of rear axle steering. Keep it up!

Great video. I’ve noticed that RAS is not well known…I rarely see it optioned but it makes such a huge difference. If you want a standard U-turn to be thrilling, go for it!

As a daily driver of the 4S with this option, it is very helpful to have, making normal turns you may have been a bit questionable about so much easier. Getting in and out of my driveway around my wife’s large Ram 2500 was much more difficult on my last similar sized car that didnt have this feature. So much smoother now. And when you do want to push it, this car is like butter. Thanks for the video and pointing out that AR app. Had no idea it was there. Although I cant get the Scan your car function to work, only place a car.
@Pcarwhisperer3 жыл бұрын
Appreciate your input this is fantastic! You're welcome! The Scan feature is currently down 😔

I also have a 4S daily with the option and love it. Anything to shrink the car in a parking lot is worth every penny, and the stability at high speed lane changes is just icing on the cake.

I’m still not sure if I should spec it on my 992 Carrera T (PDK)… maybe leave it out and save the weight? Think the regular steering is more than enough? What would you recommend?

Thanks very much Mason! Would you say that it helps for maneuvering, for example in a tight parking garage?

Mason , thank you again for a informative video. How do get that visa I have this option on 21 4S , it is great feature and highly recommended it. Can you be kind enough and do a video on Apple car play connectivity? I often have a problem that it doesn’t connect in regular basis, and honestly It is kinda frustrating. I’m thinking I must be doing something wrong !? Thanks

You're welcome! 👍🏼 I am afraid I am not sure what you mean by visa? Apple CarPlay can definitely be finicky! I will work on a video 👍🏼

This is an amazing explanation! But it leaves me with another question; how does Rear Axle Steering compare to PTV Plus as they appear to do very similar things but in much different ways. Or is that a misconception on my part? As I would most likely not option both is there one you would recommend over the other and why? Thanks!
@SiddheshKumbhar312 жыл бұрын
After watching this video I am very clear but I have some questions kindly answer as soon as possible 😊 Which car model do you have? And which sensor is used for detecting the speed of car?

Are there any racing series with auto rear steering?
@theman488410 ай бұрын
My question is how does the system work in slick conditions at highway speeds. Let's say the road is covered in slush, how would the car handle at 50-65 MPH? Better or worse than a standard set up? I have done thought experiments and have confliction conclusions.
@Pcarwhisperer10 ай бұрын
That is a great question. I am not sure how rear axle steering will have an affect on drivability with snow and slushy conditions 🤔
@tahaminaahammed23132 жыл бұрын
Does it have rear axle steer on every Porsche Taycan trims

Hi Tahamnia! Great question it is an option of about $1600 on all trims with exception of Turbo S as it is standard on this model 👍🏼

The S Class is way longer than the Taycan, especially in LWB version. This car's rear-wheel steering makes it about as maneuverable as that.
