@@shiv5927 Tesla builds mediocre cars. Build quality is shotty , for being electric they arent proving to be very reliable let alone more reliable the ICE , And considering Tesla's are supposed to be "luxury cars" excluding the model 3 , they are sub par compared to other luxury cars of equal value when it comes to features. when you buy a Tesla (other than the model 3) you are getting a car thats no where near as good as it should be for the price. I wouldn't mind a model 3 , it seems to be priced well for what you get , and complaints seem to be pretty minimal but other than the Model 3 i wouldn't touch a Tesla. ya Tesla has the biggest range , but thats really all they have going for them IMO. Also i cant Stand Tesla's approach to Owner maintenance , by which i mean they basically absolutely don't want you working on the car at all , and they make getting parts very difficult and or impossible depending on the part you need.

There ist one thing to clarify: the Taycan recuperates with 265kW and does this when you brake. This is really sharp braking without using the actual brakes.
@kaigo84635 жыл бұрын
@n s Don't know (nor will I ever be able to test this car;-) ). I also don't know if you can actually choose how to brake. What I learned from some German videos was what Porsche employees said: the Taycan does about 80% of the braking events by recuperation. They decided to only use recuperation when you actually use the brake pedal. It makes some kind of sense if you recuperate with 260kW to do it this way because one pedal driving won't be fun with that much recuperation power. Probably also helps the sports car feeling. Realistically, the Taycan is probably the only commercial EV which is designed as a sports car. It is always compared to the Model S, but the Model S is not really sports car. On the other hand, it is the benchmark for EV performance. So what else one should compare the Taycan to...? I just saw some videos where people have driven it even on a race track in Germany using basically only the recuperation. When it starts using the real breaks, it goes almost already to ABS. Anyhow, I think the Taycan must a hell lot of fun to drive, if you can afford the price ;-).

Actually, you can't but even for an EV it's weird. Most EV's applies regen when you lift from the accelerator (aka "one pedal driving"), the Taycan doesn't do this because the regen system is part of the brake system so it's applied with the brake (and the hierarchy is regen first before the pads). The only think that you have control over is how aggressive the regen gets which is a standard thing with EV's in this class, but you can't turn it off.
