I call her Captain Metal, because like Captain Marvel, she is the strongest superhero in the MCU (Metal Concert Universe). She comes complete with mild mannered offstage alter ego. Then she transforms when she hits the stage. She has super powers onstage bro. She looked at me "like that" from three feet away last week in Milwaukee. You feel the impact of that bro.

Growling is a vigorous and tight use of the vocal chords, which can cause vocal cord strain. It can strain the vocal chords if done improperly or excessively, which can cause voice fatigue, hoarseness, and pain. Tatiana does it PERFECTLY without causing damage. You might be interested to know their writing style, given how much you dug how she writes. Basically... Tatiana is a legendary procrastinator. The song Wallflower is actually _about_ that, about her bandmates hounding her for the lyrics and vocal recordings right up to the deadline, while she tries to escape to her safe place. So what happens is, the boys jam and workshop until they have a demo recorded, which they send to her. They keep doing that until they have an album's worth. Then about a week (or less!) before their studio booking, she finally, reluctantly writes the lyrics, threads the melodies in and around their _incredibly_ intricate writing, sometimes writing in Russian and then translating to English, sometimes writing in English directly, and then they go record the ish, and it's just _magical._ She is a magical creature unlike any other, a generational talent _very much_ in the vein of Freddy Mercury. No formal training, no effort expended to care for her voice... she drinks, she smokes, and she basically tripped and fell into a healthy way of doing harsh vocals by emulating singers she liked.

Metal is always better live. Music videos are like studio cuts, it represents their artistic expression. Live performances are skills in execution and interpretation of that expression. IDK about you but this video makes me want to go to their concert just to feel the raw energy coming out from the stage. Notice that this was their last song of the concert as she was saying goodbye. Can you imagine the energy when they first went on stage?

while the OMV for this song is indeed beautiful, this particular live performance is the traditional "2nd stop" on the Jinjer Journey™ since it shows off their actual live chops. sure, Pisces is _technically_ a live recording, but it's still in the controlled environment of a studio and still subject to at least _some_ level of post-production. (many reactors get that first shock and then wonder if they can actually pull it off "without a net"). they are really good live, and do have some very popular live performance videos ; but for me personally, i do really appreciate their OMVs , especially in later years when they really started upping the concept and production quality.

The video is awesome. They don't skimp on their videos, and the Ukrainian production teams seem motivated to get their work in front of an international audience too. Quite a few Jinjer videos rank among some of the best in the industry, imo. But it's been overshadowed by this performance, which happens to a lot of their songs. If you want, double features with both the omv and concert performance are fun. :)

The music video for this is good but there is something about this band live that just puts it up another level. Her lyrics are really good. This one is about seasonal depression where it starts when fall comes and eases when spring comes again every year. Nature destroyed and then rebuilt. Lately fans have been anticipating a new album from the band and the music is mostly done but Tatiana hasn't written her lyrics yet. She said in an interview it can be hard to get the inspiration. She puts a lot of thought into the lyrics so as you probably know you can't just conjure them on demand. Some other good ones to react to would be Judgment and Punishment One Take Vocal, Outlander Official Live at Loundfest. I Speak Astronomy, Pit of Consciousness Live in Kyiv. All of those have good studio versions but just as with this one there is something about live and up close with them.

@@pauzeandrewindyou said her writing remind you of poetry. She studied poetry in college, that's why it has that bill that's why it has that feel. Even more amazing is the fact that she writes all her lyrics in Russian, and then translate it to English once the song is complete.
@tomislavkosanovic11047 ай бұрын
Well she was definitely out of breath afterwards, goes to show how much effort is needed for this kind and level of performance. Her lyrics are awesome, with a wide range of topics. What's incredible to me, she writes in her language first, than translates to English and still manages to make it all work! Her only training was her shouting and growling at cars at the highway or other crazy stuff, no vocal coaching whatsoever. Do 'Teacher teacher' OMV next, and by all means, don't miss the lyrics.
@module79l287 ай бұрын
The reason why she was out of breath at the end wasn't because of the effort she put on stage for this song, it was because of the way she controls her breath during the song and the last part, with the long sustained notes going straight into the last screaming part must be hard on the breath control.

The video for this is fine, but Live at Vacken 2019 the typical second reaction after Pisces because the audio quality is spectacular, it's true live, and it dispels any doubt that they're for real. Some of their songs really pop with the video, but Perennial's is... I don't wanna say it's a little "phoned-in" but... it's probably the most missable video they have, where this live performance absolutely demolishes the OMV. If you want _fantastic_ OMVs from Jinjer, check out Vortex, Home Back, and Wallflower. All three of those are incredible and can stand up to any other music video from _anywhere_ IMO.

Bro for real, metalheads are some of the nicest people you will ever meet in your entire damn life. They look scary but they are more friendly than any other group of people out there. Moshpits can get rough, but you bet your ass that as soon as somebody gets injured, you got 5 homies helping you out, picking you up when you fall down, giving you first aid bandages or whatever you need. They get all their aggressions out in the music and all that's left is love, peace and happyness.
