You took apart that death star incorrectly. There is a small hole on the side through which you must drop a small bead. The bead will travel to the center of the death star, hitting a button and causing it to fall apart.

Obviously magnets are involved, but way to miss the point. Keeping an object *stable* while floating with just a couple magnets is extremely difficult. If you actually watch the video (which you clearly didn't based on how quickly you posted...) you'd see that they actually have a microcontroller in the base that drives several electromagnets dynamically to keep everything stable. It's actually a pretty sophisticated contraption.
