This looks like an oxbow lake that formed over a natural spring. This is caused by a river turning in on itself, so when the rest of the river dried up, the oxbow lake retained its shape due to the water from the spring beneath it.

This is certainly a natural moss and root conglomeration detached from edges on the top of flooded marshland depression. What's underneath is anyone's guess (likely an underground river system which made a sinkhole in the ground, basically a flooded cave, as per lowered t° of the water). Smaller floating islands on mossy marshes and lakes exist in multiple places in my country (Latvia).

Actually it was solved- due to tech tonic plates shifting the land broke apart into quite a magnificent perfectly round circle. The land had a massive water deposits under it which was what allowed the land to break apart so easily and created the island.

"El Ojo" is a perfectly circular floating island with a diameter of 120 m, near the delta of the Paranà river. Unlike other floating islands present in different areas of the planet, which generally form from large roots that detach from the shores , however, this one is truly particular, due to its shape and constant movement: it rotates by brushing the edges keeping everything perfectly circular, pushed by the wind, you think.Being in a remote area, it was discovered in 2016 by the director Sergio Neuspiller, looking a place to shoot a horror film, the same fascinated by the unusual shape discovered that it appears from satellite maps since 2003. The director himself led a first expedition to study the phenomenon, discovering that the water around it is unusually clear and much colder

That sometimes happens with rotating ice in a river. I would guess there is a cold spring rising up that slowly rotates the water in the lake and so debris just gathers in the center. The rotation means it is equally abraded everywhere, so it is round.

The island comes from the location located in the Paraná Delta from Buenos Aires, Argentina. Cus it looks like one, like thats literally it when it comes to names (like the "eye" of a hurricane, cus it looks like an eye from space). but its clearly not literally an eye, floating islands are pretty common. however what makes this one weird though is that it moves. from one article I read (and many dint even explain the axis part) its probably due to it's currents, which I can believe due to the temprature and the fact theres a river or creek flowing right into it. The perfect circle (it's not that perfect honestly, some images lf it show to be very oblong like any other round pice of land) could be from the spinning and erosion, erosion makes some wicked shapes some perfect some not look at any mountain effected by it. I get it moves like an eye and the name is more ominous for tourists attractions, but my initial thought for it would've been like Moon Island or something. Crecent Island.

Floating islands are a common natural phenomenon that are found in many parts of the world. They exist less commonly as an artificial phenomenon. My guess is a underground spring which would explain the colder temperature and current that would cause the round shape and compacted soil as it bounces off the sides. Even with the weight of the island built up over the years, the water pressure would be able to overcome it as is demonstrated when you see sculptures where a large rock sphere it able to rotate on a thin layer of flowing water.

It could also be that the island is a biomat. Basically a bunch of reeds and tree roots and stuff that usually floats, all matted together. The dead stuff has eroded away to make a soil, of sorts. Such would make it better for bigger trees to be there. But that's just supporting your theory.

We have a small lake or I guess it's more of a well here in New Mexico called Blue Hole. It's 62°F year round and is 80ft deep. Crystal clear waters that come from deep underground from collapsed cave systems. There is also a passage way that is closed off that leads to deeper underwater caverns. So no one really knows how far or deep it really goes. Rumors say it goes as far as Carlsbad Caverns or even more. 😮

stuff like that happends in swamps. The island is a bunch of swamp grass floating on top of the lake. It probably rotats from the water current and by doing so it rounds all the edges to that very spherical shape. Swamp grass like that is the reason why swamps are so dangerous because it looks like solid ground, but its like a false floor you can break through.

yes it must be . The whole region consists of floating vegetation, with a flowing creek . Originally as the lake was open, vegetation started to cover it , an iregular piece separated and was floating by itself and moving, driven by the creek and rotating, as the the vegetation spread and closed in, the iregular corners were rubbed off and in turn rubbed off protrusions in the sides of the hole which was closing in. The result is what you see, periodic touching the sides, never centerd exactly. The vegetation has all it needs, CO2 from the air, 0.49 g per m³, water with traces of fertilizer, ammonium sulfate, phosphor, potassium, traces of magnesium and plenty of sun light, where blue and red light is absorbed, spliting the O from CO2 and forming with H split from H2O the glucose molecule C6H12O6 and the cellulose polymer n × C6 H10O5 and some lignin. The unused green and yellow spectrum is reflected giving the vegetation the lucid green color. All natural.

Floating islands are common in some wetlands. This island happens to have a current from a spring. Remember they mentioned the unusually cold water? This makes it spin and creates the round shape. The same thing can happen with ice on lakes in a similar process. If conditions are right you get perfectly round pieces of ice as far as you can see. No alien base required. Stay in school.

El Ho-oh is floating on water, it can spin because of how thin and small of an island it is. It's probably the work of underwater vortex and water currents that allows it to spin.

It's has something to do with the gasses from the decomposing vegetation which make the naturally formed island float and rotate. The constant rotation I think helps it because a perfect circle like the water mass it's in. Just a guess 🤷‍♂️
