Wonderful video as always. I think as you’ve often stated MBTI is kind of like the “bones” of consciousness. In my last video I essentially state that MBTI creates a “presupposition” of world views that are very difficult for us to get over. Whereas enneagram is something that’s learned, and possibly changeable?

Worldviews seems about right since that's roughly what cognitive functions (and thus MBTI type) boil down to. It's like viewing the world and our place in it through tinted glasses. Enneagram is assumed to be partially learned and partially inherited.. As it describes how you react to and handle the stresses the world puts on you.

@@williescraftscorner1467 good point. Do you think either of them are changeable and to what degree?
@williescraftscorner14679 ай бұрын
@@AlburyShaffer changeable in what kind of meaning? As in becoming a different type? Probably not. But to become different by learning new tools to navigate life in ways untypical of your type? Certainly. Tldr; I don't think it's changeable as much as us gaining experience and tools to handle life better which may make us seem or feel different.

@@williescraftscorner1467 I see what you mean that makes sense. Even with enneagram it’s fairly consistent?
@williescraftscorner14679 ай бұрын
@@AlburyShaffer I would say so, yes. It's fairly universally true in typology

ENFJ 7w6 (with a 713 tritype). Yes, we come in flavors besides 2 and 3. Chris Traeger is my spirit animal.

I think using both enneagram and myers briggs together paints a complete picture of a person.

Interesting take. I'm an INFJ 5, and I can either appear very social or introverted. But when it comes to F vs T, I'm more in the fence about it, and can appear more cerebral than is expected from the INFJ steteotype.

This is a good example of why no system ever truly works. People come up with systems of categorizing information that makes it easier for them to understand and therefore introduce to others. The principles upon which MBTI is founded are true. But who dares to question assumptions to get to principles if we continue to reinforces misunderstood categories based on letters. If we ever want to know what is hidden behind a letter facade, we need to look deeper. To this day, people still do not understand what is behind the explanations that Jung gave on cognitive functions. Therefore, more systems emerge based on personal understanding that is already biased because it is (stereotypically) based on letters that drive misassociation. And it is similar with enneagram. If someone is artistic/creative, people already link that with enneagram 4. Or, if they are scientific, they must be 5. No, they mustn’t. It depends on their communication, motivation and childhood trauma not the field of interest.

Ok. I'm an INFJ and enneagram 6. I have tested myself several times over the years & still the same.

I'm still learning about my Enneagram, and perhaps I'm INTJ 9. I'm still figuring out more about it, particularly as to why I tend to express anger lately. I tend to regret not expressing it when it mattered, but I'm wondering if this is an exclusively 9 thing tho. Still not sure.
