I think you did piggy dirty. You said the mimic was popular cause of its story. Piggy was even more popular because of its story, not because it was a horror game. You said doors got popular because of quality and frequent updates. Although I agree with the quality aspect, I don't agree with the updates. Doors updates around once per 3-4 months, while piggy updated around once per 2 weeks in the book 1 era and once per 1-2 months in the book 2 era. This, along with the conclusion of the story fueled the hype for new chapters especially during the end of both books. As someone who played since book 1 chapter 10, i noticed three major spikes in ccp. One in book 1 finale (500k+ ccp), one in the game overhaul during book 2 chapter 7 (100k+ ccp), and one in the book 2 finale (130k+ ccp). This is also ignoring the fact that piggy participated in the most events/collabs than any other game mentioned in the video, which also kept it popular (piggy x jailbreak, rb battles s2, rb battles s3, piggy x metallica, the hunt 1st edition.) You also make the claim that the game got more dry as the game progressed, while it only got better in quality. Please do some research before making such bold claims that contradict each other. Edit: Minitoon is known as one of the most active developers in their respective game communities. He also known for asking the fans about many game aspects, and even held skin contests, both which none of the other devs to the same degree. You can't praise one dev for something that other devs do better at.

PIGGY might be repetitive for some but I find the randomness of spawn locations makes it just as fun as doors. That and Book One is extremely repetitive. I enjoy playing PIGGY the way it is. It dying out happened because Minitoon took the time to make higher quality chapters. Look at the quality jump from maps like city to The Safe Place. Mintoon worked hard to implement new items and features so that the game wouldn't become repetitive. I think the Hunt event map and Breakout perfectly show how much the game has changed and with Intercities full release on the horizon I'm hyped.

I feel like no one brings this up, but all those cash-grab "experience games" are rip-offs of the original "The Nightshift Experience". Yeah, they are NOT made by the og creator. The original trilogy (I know there's a fourth one but idc) was actually pretty good. The Nightmare Experience had some pretty good mind-fuckery and Nightshift was a good balance of thrilling and funny. It's sad that the concept and thumbnails got copied, and now the creator's reputation is probably ruined. TL;DR: All those cash-grab"experience" games were NOT made by the original creator of "The Nightshift Experience" and barley anyone brings it up.

People who say piggy is repetitive just shows how much they lack research and capability to accept opinions on game genres they do not like. The reason piggy died way slower than doors is because the large amounts of maps. Doors has a limited amount of different rooms in every round, the entities are differently placed and its just fun overall. PIGGY has many many maps, which is at the very least 7x the amount of different rooms in doors. It has side quests, side chapters and a story to focus on, which doors very much lacks. I love both games but comparing piggy to doors and calling piggy the worse one is really just bias because piggy is mascot horror. Piggy also has a variety of traps, skins (with different advantages, none being worse), Private server maps which you DEFINITELY have not seen and much more to it. You see piggy as a cash grabby garten of banban because you only have played carnival before, a person with real research knows that this game likes to hide what it offers. Have you discovered build mode or book 2 yet, perhaps? Long rant aside, i respect your opinion but I dont respect hating it for the shittiest excuses ever. Conclusion, I know youre a recent critic and are on baby steps, but dayummmm you have a lot to make better about yourself. Research is a huge part of making a critic, but its clear you barely have done any.

I find piggy repetitive, most of the maps are the same thing but with a special twist such as gears, or the flashbombs but I still find it boring now. Probably because I have other things to do. And Door died because the lack of content to do after beating the game but since the game has more quality than half of the games on roblox, and there are only 2 creators (both have their own lives to deal with) its understandable. Also, I have definatly seen games that make piggy (considering how its around 3 years old) look like doors. And yes I did beat book 1, find book 2 and try Build mode but I just didnt get the same fun feeling in those than when it started. I played it a long time ago and I dont plan on going back to it anytime soon. Although I might give doors a second chance. One last thing, when did you need online currency to buy stuff in piggy? Other than Tokens, there really isnt much you can buy.

Piggy isn’t over like what heterodontosaurustucki said. The story finished in the main game. And there’s a shooting game called Piggy Intercity. It takes place in the future in piggy and where the story continues until it finally finishes.. But Minitoon still updates Piggy because there’s a game mode called Piggy Build Mode which he updates. And Roblox’s egg hunt event, piggy was updated for the event and added more characters and more lore

I feel like people started to quit piggy not because it was repetitive, but because the the game had a significant jump in difficulty over the books, requiring actual problem solving compared the easy, simple chapters of book 1. Every new chapter in book 2 was unique and challenging, and changed the game for the better, easily solidifying it as one of my favourite games, but I guess the public disagreed. Piggy still holds up as one of the best games on Roblox, having amazing music, interesting lore (more so book 2), fun gameplay (ig it could be seen as repetitive, but aren’t all Roblox games repetitive?), and some horror elements in the breakout chapter, which was honestly scarier than the hour or so I played of Apeirophobia.

Residence Massacre is an extremely good horror game on Roblox. ....And then its copy, Weird Strict Dad, stole it's spotlight. Now, it's kind of dying. And it's not fair. The game is very good and although updates are slow, what can you expect? ONE GUY IS WORKING ON THE WHOLE THING. Weird Strict Dad has like, 2 people who actually do work on the game. But its advertising *HARD* carries it. *BECAUSE THEY NEED A TEAM OF LIKE, 20 PEOPLE JUST FOR ADVERTISEMENTS.* *AND FOR EVERY NEW CHAPTER, THEY GET AWAY WITH THE SAME THING:* *COPY OTHER GAMES, AND WATER IT DOWN TO AN EXTREME AMOUNT.* *AND ALSO SERIOUSLY DRAG OUT THE GAMEPLAY FOR PREMIUM PAYOUTS.* *AS WELL AS MAKE IT KILL THE PLAYERS IN UNFAIR WAYS SO THEY EITHER BUY REVIVES,* *OR REPLAY THE LONG UNSKIPPABLE CUTSCENES AGAIN FOR THOSE SWEET, SWEET PREMIUM PAYOUTS.*

The way The Mimic Book 2 Chapter 3 literally had a Weird Strict Dad kinda section and it's so much better and scarier, yet the actual game has tons of more players

Honestly, i had some good game ideas at the time, but idk how to script, then these horror games came out, numbing my mind, then i forgot my possible ideas that might have been really good at the time.

the maze is a pretty old horror game, it was made 6 years ago just because its repetitive doesnt mean its bad?? its a pretty og horror game made before many other ones that were just copies of others

i’m watching this during the innovation awards 2024 drama. it’s a breath of fresh air especially the comment section respecting piggy as a phenomenon while acknowledging that now its doors’ time to make a name for itself

Pretty good video, but when you used gameplay in the Doors section, some of the gameplay was fake. Such as the Window and Jeff jumpscares, which aren't in the game.

On Roblox there are some genres that go through phases. Horror is one of them. A big game (like Piggie or Doors) comes out and its popular, then copys come, then it dies down after a whil. Then another populr game comes out and it repeats.

I dont consider Piggy as much of a horror game, but it does get me sometimes. Im just there for lore and fun. I've been there since book 1, and seeing it still alive and kicking gives me happiness. Book 2's ending music just brings tears to my eyes

the thing i liked how the doors devs wanted to make a better rooms because rooms had 2 entitys only and dev never decided to update again and they didnt fail before it gets boring because of the same things opening doors they added bosses not really such as seek and figure the thing is they care about the community and they put the fanmade entitys such as depth and greed as picture frames on the walls they made greed an actual entity in super hard mode and if u havent noticed they also do that with youtubers like recently 8bitryan and captainjackattack basically jack with a pirate hat as picture frames

I feel like half the problem is that most devs are just in it for the money now, these games are just quick cash grabs with no real thought or effort or storyline put in, and when that game inevitably dies off they just make a new one to keep the money coming
