This reminds me of the impact of the longbow during the 100 years war. During one battle the longbow gave the English and advantage over French Knights that were bogged down in the mud. Cheaper weapon system(longbow) had an advantage over the more costly and fewer mounted knight. If I was running an Air Force, I might start considering buying fewer manned jets and spend more money on cheap drones that can be massed produced.

That their supposed ultra expensive big maned crafts are now nothing but a barbaric relic in the 21st century.
