If enemy missiles are the concern, it would make sense to use (semi-)submarines for logistics. 7:08 I'd imagine the water also can act as a buffer against high speed missiles (the same way a rifle bullet loses a lot of power when fired into underwater targets)

History repeating it self. in ww2 Japan had to resupply bases scattered throughout the pacific. US called them the Tokyo Express, didn't workout too well
