@bestalwaysofall Жыл бұрын
Like Sadhguru repeatedly points out, the present system of crops near water sources like rivers is not correct. For a distance of several kilometres depending on the size of the river, only large trees have to be grown. These trees would retain ground water and release it slowly into the rivers. These higher trees will act as cloud seeders which will augment rains. Unless India takes up the ideas of such a yoga sadhguru, we and the world are also in trouble of desertification of land masses. Could be such a mistake formed even the great Sahara desert.

I am currently in Andalusia. The farming methods are part of the problem. They use a lot of chemicals and plant monocrops. The land is dead partly because of how they treat it. There is a yoga centre called Suryalila here - they have a reforestation project using permaculture. They have incredible vegetables and their olive oil is the best I have ever tasted. Things can be improved if you use permaculture and stop heavy industrial farming methods which are neither healthy nor long-term sustainable.

The process has already started - we have two ports in Latvia in Liepāja and Ventspils, which are planned for drinking water reservoirs for export. In Liepāja, the underground reservoir will be completed this year, or in 2024. at the beginning, but in Ventspils everything is still only in the planning stage. The soon-to-be-completed reservoir will be able to fill approximately 3 tankers with drinking water in 24 hours, but the problem is that it will not be possible to fill the reservoir itself at such a speed, because you need huge power pumps and other things, because we get drinking water in Latvia only from underground sources. We do not use fresh water from rivers and lakes - in the best case, we use that water only for agriculture, but this is not a very popular solution, even though lakes and rivers are always full of water. Seeing these videos about Spain - it is clear that even if we work at maximum capacity, our fresh water export volumes will not be able to improve the situation very much - maybe we could supply a certain region of Spain in sufficient quantity, but not the whole country!

I am a permaculturist who has spent the last 7 years living in Spain. It is clear that the immediate implementation of some simple measures could break the drought in 3 to 5 years. 1. The farmers must stop ploughing under the tree crops. 2. Monocultures must be replaced with polycultures. 3. Swales must be cut across all of the ramblas at regular intervals to capture the rains when they fall and stop the water running off into the sea. 4. Regenerative agricultural practices must replace the destructive industrialised systems that have been largely responsible for causing the drought.

Why don't they take a page out of India's book and the paani foundation? Water catchment to help recharge ground water. It took years to make the problem, and unfortunately it'll take years to fix it

@@thewhatorwhy Or extra Virgin Oil ,so there
@vujovic0000 Жыл бұрын
@@thewhatorwhy Sounds like a logical choice, but no 😅 , not as primary .. Sunflower oil is produced in much larger quantities and is therefore way cheaper .. Like in Canada for example, due to the climate Canola grows better than Sunflower and is therefore the most affordable choice.. All in all, whole fields of Sunflowers as a seasonal crop give much greater yields than Olive trees that require more care !

Where to dump the brine or the salt ?
@lizadair1546 Жыл бұрын
@@widayantosetio I don't have all the answers, but salt is amazingly healing. In fact decades ago the Israeli's used seawater in the desert to grow amazing vegetables. Since the earth is actually expanding and there is more sea it shouldn't be a problem. Salt you can bath in it, you can eat it.

I noticed Spain becoming a desert a few years ago when I lived there, they have cut down so much forests and doing massive mono culture it was terrible to see, they seriously need to try to get more trees because this is the only way to reverse it slowly

Hi palki, heard that in Saudi Arabia and the near by countries, rain is being made artificially by spraying silver iodides or dry ice. From my limited knowledge, if this is done indiscriminately, it will lead to drought in the other areas. Could you do a news item on this please? I. am your fan and would like to know more on this..

Exactly! People claim “climate change” yet some countries are out here purposefully changing the climate

Spain need c4 plants such as peepal tree (Ficus religiosa) which first grow on low water and low density of carbon available in enviornment and create shadow and can make land fertile with falling leaves and helps in vegitation and as vegitation grow water content in atmosphere will rise which result in moisture on land and heat reduction and slowly in couple of years barren land becomes vegetative and fertile land with water availability. Whoever agrees with me give like and spread in spain or to the people you know in spain to create one person one tree plantation project in spain and this drive will help to retain the enviornment.
