I wish Dual physical SIM was an option. I enjoyed seeing the SMS and dialer visually. I wish you would have showed, discused, and or showed what it's like texting while on a call or getting a call on one line while on the other, and how is visual voicemail treated for both lines

Very nice video! Can you tell us what Item model number you have? I am assuming you have the international model, I’m not sure if that’s what you have, but it will help to make sure that phone will works with the 2 radio networks used by wireless carriers. GSM, CDMA

Thanks for that. So when next I travel outside Australia I'll probably want a second sim because Vodafone coverage and service is not the best, would I be right in thinking a Google e-sim is the way to go? I really want less Google in my life 😖

The U/U1 variants of the Galaxy S23 phones are now US only in terms of SIM card support. If you plan to use a SIM card from another country, you'll need another device to cover it (unless you have an eSIM from Germany or Sweden in which you can keep your current device).

​@@zoteck2294Because if you own the phone you shouldn't need permission from your carrier to swap sims. And at that it should only take seconds to do not 30 mins to an hour. I've always considered E Sim to be a downgrade despite it sounding like an upgrade it's really just a useless feature that was never needed to begin with.

@@DZ-cq3gs sort of/not really. I have all voice mails set to be sent to me as a text message and as an email. Doing it this way, none of my voice mails are transcribed to the visual voicemail app.

I use att and now im testing verizons network on esim. How do i make verizon my mobile data only while voice and sms are on att (sim1). I cant seem to figure this out

Set VZW as the primary SIM. It'll use that for data. Then go to contacts and select all, and choose your att SIM as the default for calls. You'll have to add new contacts as you go for that preference but it works well enough.

To be very clear, you are saying that your US S23 has a single-sided sim card tray? The dual sim versions place the sims on either side of the tray and it may not look like dual sim if you are used to seeing the dual sim tray that have them side-by-side

It doesn't I purchased my S23 Ultra with the credit. It's a different IMEI so Google Fi has no idea what the other IMEI is doing. Also, the promotion is still counting down in days for me so no issues there.

Great video. Got a really specific question about the Dual-SIM which no one is able to answer. This is the only reason why I have to stay with my iPhone. My scenario: I have an iPhone with one ATT eSIM (for data) and another physical SIM (main line) from a German carrier. My German line is my business and primary line. I use ATT only for data in the US. I changed the Network Selection on the German carrier from "automatic" to manual...then choose a carrier which it will not able to connect to. This forces the iPhone to always have WIFI calling over cellular data. So now I have 24/7 WIFI Calling with my German line in the US or all over the world, avoiding any expensive calls. Is this somehow possible to force on the the Samsung S23??Please say yes so I can run in the next store ;-) One more important thing. I know this is not possible with all carriers (like Verizon) since they will deactivate the manual carrier selection on iPhones and Samsungs. But the German carrier is pretty nice ;-)

I did not think the S23 had a dual SIM version and you video clarifies to me that I was right. an eSIM is not a SIM which is why you talk so much about carrier problems. A dual SIM phone does not have carrier problems. Neither of my carriers allow eSIMs
